  1. use a total of three cables < <cable for one carb >main cable to throttle> < <cable for other carb piece of angle iron with three holes three cables with threaded ends to go through the plate, which allows you to adjust
  2. just a quick thought: vanagon 1.5 or 1.6 diesel + fox trans and if you want a 4wd version: syncro or quattro trans definatelyt EXTREMELY hard to confuse a vw pickup with a subaru brat low end torque is not much, and they do not accept being lugged they are extremely happy to run at the top end of their rpm range fuel economy is realistically 40 mpg 1.6 na 1588 cc 52hp @ 4800 71ftlb @ 2500 compare with ea71 1.6 na 1595 cc 68hp @ 4800 84ftlb @ 2800 difference of 7cc 16hp 13ftlb in favor of subaru swap in a ea81, ea81t, ea82, ea82t, and you will be better off, if you decide you must upgrade from the ea71
  3. SO ... then you have twin dual over head cam TDOHC VW DIESEL 1.5 and 1.6 has a true overhead cam system call it what you will

  6. where is the cap and rotor made??? what color is it????? sounds like a vac. leak is the choke working properly? is the vac. advance working and hooked to the intake manifold directly? is the base timing set correctly? are the sparkplugs BPR6EY-11
  7. I think this may qualify him for the looney bin ea81t is IN BLOCK CAM EA82T is overhead cam to be correct dual overhead cam head and intake gaskets are wrong shape ea81t SINGLE PORT INTAKE EA82T dual port intake you would be better off using subaru heads on a vw air cooled, which has been done
  8. did you ever notice the dent in the right rear door? I used to drive that car daily got heat?
  9. if you have studs, you are disqualified because you would tear up the ice and stop too soon, where's the fun in that?
  10. FIRST thought is bad alternator, possibly diode what is your shift point? for it to rev to 3k? seems a bit low I usually shift about 4k and it will jump up to 5k on its own when the engine is cold and hasn't thawed the cable

  13. heads have wrong ports you will need to figure c r cams have different spec do a major search and pick n choose the componets for the way you want to build
  14. the ea81t used two different turbos, water cooled, and oil cooled which turbo was on the ea71t
  15. screwy wipers .... on the last rx of mine, it took the same as the front! used napa yellow box cheap wipers with the enclosed adapter kit on the ski wagon i use trico wonders, no metal frame, just plastic blade, work great, no way for ice to build up on them again same one used on all 3
  16. you may want to look into my post about using a 4d escort air box didn't have any icing issues ....... yet
  17. unstoppable .................. when trying to stop on ice when you manage to high-center yourself ..................... especially when drift jumping BTDT
  18. LACK OF FUEL fix with weber ignition? fix with electronic alt? fix with xt6 adjust valves
