  1. If you go here: http://www.main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/2000+_Legacy_FSM/ Go to wiring section. It starts with the 4 but half way through goes to the 6 cyl. section. Hope this helps. For future ref a lot of the '02+ manuals are the same. Here's an H6 but couldn't find AC in it. http://bustedfingermotorsports.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=211&sid=e107124d83905c4fb07de0b0ca7999c9 O.
  2. The ring is held on with allen screws either 5 or 8mm, not sure which. Remove and let the ring hang down before you bang the stud out. Lessens the chance of the stud flying and breaking the tone ring. (ask me how I know!) O.
  3. Does your AT oil temp light flash 16 times at start up? If so it is your Duty C solenoid, which is accessed by removing the transfer extension housing. Look at http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b11/ O.
  4. See following stickys: http://legacygt.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/suspension-brakes-20.html O.
  5. No ideas, but you are not alone. Have a 98 IOB and if the car is run until the low fuel light comes on, instant CEL. Started to track down, but decided not to pursue it further. I just keep the fuel at 1/4 tank or more. O.
  6. The offset has to be about 45 or larger (std Suby is 52-55). Sometimes a 42 will fit. O.
  7. If your horn doesn't work it's the clockspring. Not hard to replace but must be done carefully. You have to get one from compatible units from junkyard, unless you don't mind high oem prices. check :http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/ and http://subarupartsforyou.com/ O.
  8. Don't have hands on knowledge, but Subaru lists the same intake manifold gasket for 00-09, but different HG for these series. O.
  9. Choose from here: http://www.main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/ O.
  10. I believe 97 and 98 electrical are the same. Download the fsm and check the schematics. For whatever reason, the fuel pump relay is also tied into the rear defogger fuse (#16). Check that also. O.
  11. Can't state whether it is too long or not, but if it is you can buy a spark plug nonfouler (@$3), enlarge the opening and screw the sensor into it. O.
  12. When you cleaned it, did you remove the plastic electrical housing? If not, that is where the magnetic portion of the wheel is hidden that controls the air. It has to rotate freely. O.
  13. 1507 is your idle air control valve. Needs a thorough cleaning. Do search here and you will find things to look for, how to clean and how to deal with the brass screws that hold it on Generally you will have a wavering idle, up and down after a few minutes of running. O.
  14. It is a by feel only job. And yes a real PITA. All the air stuff has to be off to allow you to lean in and use a 14mm ratcheting wrench to loosen /tighten. I used a thin piece of wood as a better peace of mind thing while working. Starting the threads was always the worst for me. O.
  15. Disagree. I have replaced three O2 sensors on different cars and I used Bosch (the originators of oxygen sensors btw) and have never had a problem. Unfortunately I can't help the op with his issue, but the Bosch sensor is not the problem. O.
  16. Here.Title says 05 but is the same. http://www.bustedfingermotorsports.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=210 Inside it says 04 but that is Euro date. O.
  17. Here is link to fsm http://www.bustedfingermotorsports.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=173#p478 Have fun. O.
  18. Using the spacer will require you to make some rigging of the EGR tube. Be prepared. O.
  19. I've personally owned 3 Legacys, 97,04 and 07. None of them gave me any more trouble than the usual maintenance issues. I also have a 98 and 99 Impreza Outback and still no real issues. I just think you have a neglected 16 year old car that is showing its lack of care. O.
