  1. I'll try to snag a picture of the procedure from my FSM tonight. There are several sets of reasonably priced EA82 FSMs on ebay right now.
  2. Did a little recon yesterday after work and wouldn't you know it, that little sleeve on the striker was nowhere to be found! Looks like I need a replacement striker or two...
  3. This is EXACTLY what I was hoping to find. If my memory serves me correctly, the striker doesn't have a sleeve on it, but this car is so new to me that I can't recall. Will pick up some spray lithium grease on the drive home.
  4. I didn't have any trouble loosening the striker bolts, but I currently have it adjusted all the way in towards the center of the car, with no change. What part of the latch needs grease? I sprayed a bunch of WD-40 from the outside, but it sounds like the latch needs attention on the inside. The window glass is not hitting anything but the rubber seal and the latch doesn't seem to be catching prematurely.
  5. I did a search, but most of what came back was about adjusting windows. I've got an EA82 coupe that doesn't like to fully latch the driver's side door. When the door is closed, you can push the trailing edge of the door in towards the body about a 1/4 inch and when you get up to highway speeds, the wind noise is pretty unbearable. I tried adjusting the striker closer to the driver's seat, but nothing seemed to change. I tried adjusting it outwards, away from the seat and still, nothing seemed to change. What am I missing? The 1987 FSM isn't much help either.
  6. Did this wagon ever get finished?
  7. Yes, exactly! And the EJ20G ECUs are a plug-and-play solution. I think you might have to re-pin a few circuits, but as long as you have a four-connector ECU, they will swap. There's been a lot of discussion about ECU swapping and ESL on the LegacyCentral message boards.
  8. Have you looked into the Enduring Solutions products? Seems like ECUs are pretty interchangeable, as long as you stay within the same family of ECUs: 89-96 and 97-2001.
  9. Sure they can, you just have to add a daughter board to the ECU, the same socket that RobTune uses for the EJ22T computers. I will be using the Enduring Solutions (ESL) daughter board on my EJ20G-swapped GL, after I buy a house of course...

What are your plans for that TWE header?
  11. Scott, I've got access to a 2015 Forester. Let me make an inquiry and see if I can get it up to you. If you don't hear back soon, message me as I may have forgotten.
  12. 3M Window Weld. Fill the voids in the factory bushing.
  13. I too have used WRX stainless braided lines on my EA81 with rear disc brakes.
  14. Yes, this is an old thread, gimme a break... Does anyone know if the bracket holding the EA81 oil pressure sending unit (attached to the blue anodized adapter) to the alternator bracket in the photo below is a factory part or one that HatchMonster88 made himself? I blasted past an image of something that looked VERY similar in an unrelated internet search earlier today and can't place it.
  15. Any updates on this? Has anyone swapped a non-ABS booster/MC combo?
  16. Just wanted to post here about these hubs. I was extremely impressed with the packaging, to start with. I didn't expect the hubs to be nested in a custom cut foam insert, or soaked with oil in plastic bags. I'm very impressed not only with the packaging, but the quality seems top notch too, if not OEM-quality. The machining looks nice and tight, sharp tools were used to make the cuts and all the studs look to be pressed in square. Dfoyl, thank you so much for taking on this project!
  17. I just sent an email to Mill Supply thanking them for making the EA82 patch panels, but also made the case that there is a larger and more lucrative (for BRATs, at least) market for the EA81 body style. I suggest anyone interested do the same...
  18. Naru, could you scan or take a photo of the page with those parts on it? Thanks!
  19. 1980-82 on at least the top-of-the-line BRATs and wagons. Once you find the center lamp assembly, the part(s) I need the number for are the linkage between the "grill door" and the motor, as well as any plastic cups that are part of that linkage.
  20. I replaced the rear brake lines like Numbchux did, but routed them along the semi-trailing arm on my EA81T wagon. I was even able to reuse the little metal tabs to secure the line, using some silicone tube to prevent premature wear. FYI, there are two lengths used for GD rear brake lines. STI and non-STI are different lengths, I think STI are longer, but I don't remember offhand.
  21. I'm trying to replace the motor-to-emblem arm on a center lamp assembly and was wondering if anyone has a factory parts catalog they can look this up in. Thanks!
