so hmmm... all the diffs are the same??? i could do the LSD swap just like i was any other suby??? but i would still have to change the 3.7 to 3.9 right???

i say SRX means SUBARU RACING EXPERIMENT!!! you know like a AMX... from AMC... except better... like its a hatch but with a super duper engine... tell me... does it posses any super amazing accelerating powers? perhaps a 0-60 time of say... ohhhh... 4 seconds? that would be sweet... i'm done... anybody know what it really means?

i was reading the article on in one of the archives on the board in a hunting magazine or something... they did a article on the gen 1 brat... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/mags-acc/brat-articles/huntingwheels2.jpg in the second columb about half way down they said that it was easy to convert the diff so it has LSD... i think... its kinda late and i'm really tired... i might be reading it wrong... or i'm dreaming it... i unno yet... anyway! i am on a random goose chase with this thing or has somebody done it and been keeping it quiet??? if so SPEAK UP MAN!(or woman...) is there some other way to get LSD for my gen 1? thanks!

hmmmm... a carb rebuild eh??? i probably need one... my carb doesn't seem to ever run quite right... how much did it cost?? who exactly did it for you??? i'm getting excited... or should i just weber it? hmmmm... webers cost oodles... rebuild sounds like it will get it running good...

i was thinking the same thing... i can get those kinda #'s outa the legacy but my speedo is in km... at the top of 2nd i can go 80 km/h... check it out!

our 01 leg got broken into about 6 months ago... the guy was a complete drugy too... this was in downtown vancouver by the way... a good car theif there can have your alarm system disabled and be ready to drive away in about 8 seconds! thats why we got bate cars... but thats not the point i just thought it was interesting/scary... but ya... the guy smashed the passenger window and got our digi cam(which we forgot we even had in the car and about a month later tried to find it then realized "hey... it was in the car!" and a walki-talki(sp?)... my dad caught him halfway through and yelled at him... he ran off... my dad didn't want to persue in fear of him carrying a weapon which he must have had because he smashed the window...( i don't car how many times you've seen terminator the window is going to break you before you break it with your elbow/fist/foot... ) i don't know why he bothered... the cam and the walki were i in the center consol and there is no stereo in the car... unfortunatly the alarm was already disabled... it was acting up and going off at random so we turned it off... the window has never sat right in door seal since... it whistles at high speeds! but ya thats my story... i hope you catch the guy!

i say at south center... just because i know where that is... and lets be more specific... in front of ____ store... that place has a huge parking lot... but hey, thats my vote...

ummmm... how early is early??? i can meet up with you guys but it would have to be at around 12:00 ish... last year we got there at around 12... but i'm driving my brat... much slower then the 01 leg! i am pretty sure i'm meeting up with some peeps from mt.vernon... (i think thats where they're at...) i'll give them a call and see... didn't we try this last year??? and it completely failed? my mom doesn't like caravaning... to stressfull for her... but i think she will want to caravan since my brat makes funny noises... i'd rather have 5 people know there way around a suby then just me... sweet...

i have had this happen to me as well... front wheel on ice and the car didn't move at first... stopped for a moment then backed up again and it worked... this is an MT in an 01 Legacy... there was no problem... but i was surprised when a little patch of ice stopped me from moving...

so ya locks... my catchy title has brough you to have a look-see... ok so my ignition key is a little dinky thing that also unlocks my snug-top and i am looking for a replacment... and since my driverside key hole doesn't unlock my car anymore i was thinking, "why not just replace them all!" so what i'm looking for: (all from a gen 1 ish thing... preferably 79) -ignition switch key thing -driver and passenger side key hole thingies -key that works them ALL... so basicly what i'm going for is the ability to get into my car and start it with one key and not having to craw through the passenger side and unlock my driverside then get out and start my car with the key that looks like its supposed to open a gym locker... AND HEY... heads up... i was taking a gander at my 79 brat key and my parents 01 Legacy key and discovered that they are the same style... the grooves are the same! so after my lock swap i'm gonna go to suby and get my some suby keys! thanks!

i'm pretty sure they are all talking about the outback sport... which is the impreza wagon just with an outback feel and look... so ya impreza outback... i believe around the 96-98 models??? around there... i don't really know why i'm posting... i don't really know much...

just go buy a set from walmart or something... or you can splurge and get some real lights like hella or something... you can buy a set for like 30 bucks... just replace them... and i don't think they were a option from the dealer or anything... most likely aftermarket...

when i did a clutch change i was told i had to take out the engine and trans to do it... something about it not fitting with the rad and such there... so do you guys also take out the trans when you do it? can you slide the engine far enough forward to pull it out???

and its a viscous type... not as useful off-road...:-p and blah blah wrong ratio... just thought i'd throw that out there... good luck with your lifting adventures!!!

now you might have a problem off-roading in the full-time trans... since it would have a center diff... which means (theoreticly) if one tire looses all traction then the car isn't going to move... if you can upgrade the trans(well technicly downgrade...) to something with a locked center diff...(or no center diff at all!) its probably going to be fine beating around in the bush but it'll be easier to get stuck then a normal 4wd...
