Welcome to the board! if i were you i would start my own thread and ask the questions there... you'd problably get more answers doing that... but i remember reading a thread about putting an sti engine into a 914... there were movies and pics... a company makes a kit for it i do believe... if you do a search on the board i'm sure you'll come up with something... HEY!!! its a fellow gen 1 owner in Canada!!! your car sounds sweet... your the first person i've seen besides myself who actually drives there gen 1... i know a guy who has 2 but they aren't "driveable"... good luck with your subie!!!

have any of you seen the 9-7x??? it coincidentally came out right after the B9 came out... i think they are probably the same car... just the saabs got a crappier drivetrain and super nice interior... i bet they were designed by the same people for the same purpose... just my thoughts...

hmmm... i didn't know you can't run more then 4 transformers... i am running 5... with no problems... just for fun... i am running a wireless 4 port router connecting to 2 comps my brothers laptop and soon my laptop... all 3 are wireless... while i'm running a LAN to my second 4 port router with LANs to my xbox and extra spots for my friends xboxs... i have had 3 xbox's running at the same time through this set up... no problems... although my dad trying to check his stocks was slowed to a crawl... mmmmm... DSL... tasty...

my buddy owns a datsun 510... he's got a super sweet L20B engine with high compression everything and two huge weber carbs on it... he has CV's(i'm posative because i helped him put them in)... this is a 72 so it must have had u-joints to start off with... and his car is lowered... its on cardomain.com... he calls it "bobby the black 510" http://www.cardomain.com/ride/832882/1 its pretty nice...

its starting to look like i won't be able to go in the brat... this time its all my fault... the car is great... i just need a job... as soon as i get a job i can get insurance and be on my way! so if all goes well today(i applied at an autobody shop and i think i might get it! he told me he will phone at 5...) i will be taking the brat... but if i don't get a job in the next couple of days... i'll be taking the leg again... so cross your fingers for my and my brat!

that makes me happy... i'm sure its been said on a different thread but ya... i'll look but since i'm here typing... is it easier to put the LSD part into my open diff (to get the 3.9 gears) or to put the parts from my open diff into the LSD to get the gearing??? thanks!

Do you have to pass an inspection or just smog??? because up here(we are pretty strict with smog and what not) as long as it passes aircare(smog) its ok... they don't check under the hood anymore... they don't know what its supposed to look like anyway... but i don't think we are as strict as cali is... do they check under the hood over there??? they check for cat and a sealed gas cap here... what do they check in Cali???

hey i had no idea it used u-joints in the rear... partly because i have never had to do any work on the rear yet... would it be smart to upgrade the axles to CV's like in the newer gen vihicles??? they ARE CV's in the gen 2's right?:-\ you know... for better travel and what not??? now all i need to do is find me an LSD for cheap!

no no the safe spot for that is with me...:cool: it will be so safe even you won't be able to see it again!

the dealers here are not that smart... and they carry nothing... they wanted 70 bucks and a month to get a brake rotor... the locks are problems... one of them doesn't accept the key anymore... and the ignition is aftermarket for a forklift or something... i just want to use one key for the whole car... this seems to be the best option for me... and plus... IT'S FREE!!! w00t!!! thanks seahag!

so hmmm... all the diffs are the same??? i could do the LSD swap just like i was any other suby??? but i would still have to change the 3.7 to 3.9 right???
