  1. I'm about to start doing some work on my 81 Brat, and I have a question on the hub interchangeability of them. Somewhere along the line. either a different axle or different hub got swapped into it and it grinds HORRIBLY in 2WD, but runs all right in 4WD. I'm sure there's a different size axle in there, but what about the hubs? I'm gonna head to the junkyard today and pull a set of hubs to be sure, but what year car should I be looking for? Any year wagon? Or a gen 1 Brat or wagon? Thanks.
  2. I registered and checked my email and I wanted to say I'm still in! I wasn't sure if I needed to respond to your email so I didn't. Consider this my response if so. Thanks.
  3. I have a question. I'm gonna need to replace the hubs on my 81 Brat soon, and I want to know If I can swap out hubs from any Gen 1 wagon or hatch or anything. Are they different from the 81 Brats? I had them replaced somewhere along the line when I had some work done to it and it seems that the castle nut doesn't want to seat because maybe they're a different size hub or castle nut or cone washer or something. Any help?
  4. Sounds good. I wasn't sure if you still had the hatch or not. I want to see the OBS in the mud!!
  5. John, I'll call you on Monday.

Yeah, an 85-89 Toyota. I have a set I was going to put on my Brat, but after getting the tires on and looking at the flares, it's kinda hard to mount them with how much space I have.

You shouldn't have any problems unless the axles are rusted on there. Just get under the car and have a look around, you'll figure it out.
  11. Oh DANG! That's awesome. Great stuff.
  12. I like the scoop. It's good to be different, I say do it your way and live with it. Like you said you're building this car for yourself, and if that scoop is what you had in mind, go for it. YOU have to live with it. you don't want to be riding around with other people's ideas attached to your hood do you?
  13. Yeah nice lookin place. That sucks about the eye, hope you're getting better, don't let it get in the way of anything.
  14. that's great! Nice fun lookin place to wheel!

  17. That's gonna be a create as you go kinda thing. there's no know actual lift kit for that year soob, so its all up to you. Have fun and let us know how it goes!
  18. All right guys, thanks for the info. I think I might try it sometime. I may have found a cheap gen 1 that's gonna need some work, so this might actually happen. I'll keep everyone updated.
  19. I signed up and paid. I'm good to go! See everyone there!
  20. ehhhh, I think I liked it when it was a little more stock. Its not as bad as someone made it out to be though. It IS kinda a shame though.
  21. Yeah count me in too! I can;t wait to see this thing in person either. Good luck with the house.
  22. Check with your local machine shops. When I had mine done, they asked for a sample rim as well, so they couls match them up. Just say that you want to convert to a 6 lug setup and take that sheet of SubaruBrat's in with you. Just explain what you want and it should turn out pretty well. If they try to charge you an insane amount (I was quoted 770$ the first time I went into a machine shop here in Reno) Tell them to forget it. Also try to contact Archemitis, he's doing 6 lug conversions for people. search in the marketplace for 6 lug conversion and you should get it.
