ABS unit runs when car is turned off
Crazyeights replied to Tina's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWelcome There is a service bulletin or TSB about this from Subaru. The ABS relay may be stuck on. I think it is mounted behind the headlight near the ABS motor. Try tapping on that relay with the ABS pump still running and see if it turns off. You might be able to get by with replacing just the relay although I think it is recommended to replace the entire ABS pump assembly. Good Luck

EA81 Pitching Stopper Rod... How Important is it?
You can run without it but it is much easier to break a motor mount.

EA81 Spring Washers.... Why me?
I'll send you a complete unmolested rocker assembly. Please PM with any markings you can find on your rocker shaft so I can match up the correct one. I know it sucks but try and have patience, you'll get it running yet This type of thing happens a lot when you are working on older cars.

Tighten Flex Plate To Engine
Crazyeights replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXPlan - A You could try taking an old serpentine belt and wrapping it around the crank pulley like a strap wrench.. The trick is to wrap the belt back over on itself (thereby destroying the belt) and hooking it over something else on the engine. Hint, another nearby pulley works great. You are using an old belt as a strap wrench. Some people will tell you this will ruin the crank pulley so look at it with common sense. If the outer ring is mounted on rubber then perhaps on to plan "B" instead, Plan - B Try putting a screwdriver or pry bar through one of the holes in the flex plate and brace it against the block, again using common sense not to ruin anything. Plan - C Buy or borrow the really cool special Subaru crankshaft holding tool. It fits on the crank pulley and gives you about a 2 foot handle.

Bad A/C compressor -- Do I really need to flush the system?
Because these are small fairly simple systems probably. For example you might need a vacuum pump on a system with front and rear evaporators, lots of long lines, etc.

Bad A/C compressor -- Do I really need to flush the system?
Agreed ^^^ this methodology works fine in most cases

Special Socket to Reach Rocker Arm Head Nut EA81
1) Do the first torque in sequence without the rockers installed by using sockets as spacers on the two long head bolts. 2) Remove the socket spacers and re-install the rocker arms. 3) Torque the two long bolts that hold the rocker arms on for the second time and your done

They sell 'quickflush' kits just about everywhere.
-
Special Socket to Reach Rocker Arm Head Nut EA81
You can torque the heads using two large sockets as spacers in place of the rocker arms. When you are done with the torque sequence then remove the long bolts and re-torque those two bolts to the final spec with the rockers installed. Make any sense?
