Need help with Installing Thermostat
Try truning the bolt back and forth, that will get it to free up most of the time

white smoke
You probably have a bad vacuum modulator on your transmission. When they go bad, they allow transmission fluid to be sucked into the engine's intake.

attn: anyone in portland OR!
yeah around 82 is pretty bad, but my aunts live more in inner SE and it's not too bad. Outer SE around 122nd isn't bad either. The west side is a fair bit more expensive unless you live south of town like in Wilsonville

Where does one get paint for these old school cars?
No not maaco, Look in your yellow pages for a local store that sells autobody paint and supplies.

Where does one get paint for these old school cars?
Just goto your local Autobody Paint shop and give them the paint code for your car. They should be able to supply you with more then enough for doing touch-ups. It won't be a perfect match to what's on your car but close enough for what you need.

Running rich and need a fix
Well for starters, if you have a 84 4x4 you don't have an O2 sensor or any computer control unless it's got Cal emmisions. If you do have Cal. Emmisions then you should check for trouble codes and go from there. If you don't have Cal. emmisions then there is an idle mixture adjustment. Also check your float level. And when did you give it a tune up last

I had one of those fall out of an EA71 4wd tranny. After that I had to make a sharp left turn before it would go into 4th

putting EJ22 into the 86 wagon
You'll probably have to adapt your existing AC compressor to the EJ engine, because the compressor off of the EJ engine will likely be incompatible with the rest of your AC system.

Cam snaped in 1/2
I've seen that a couple of times. Let me guess, it was the longer of the 2 cams, the one that drives the distributor.

Head Gasket Failure or what? Can anyone explain this? *update - fixed*
A friend of mine had similar symptoms with his 84 hatch. It turned out that he had a crack in the block; in one of the water jackets that run next to a cylinder sleeve. The sleeve also rotated about 30 degrees and chewed-up the piston skirt. I hope your problem isn't as terminal.

URGENT! 1987 4WD GL Wgn. Disty questions
I think flowmaster needs to spend time in a gym and build up some mucles. All I had to do is pull straight up and the rotor slid right off.
