Ea82 dash clock ipod upgrade! Now with pics!!!!
Looks great with the digi clock on there haha. think I'm sold on this idea. Good luck getting that amp and sub hooked up to your stock head-unit. I commend that idea as well. The stock radio is just too charming lol.

What kinda axles are you using? And don't mean to threadjack bratrod, but real quick, where can one ascertain those hardened washers (they are the concave ones, correct?) Are they avail through the dealer?

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Think I have finally solved all of Ben's coolant leak issues. Knock on wood. On a side note, some air pumping up through the oil filler neck with the engine running is normal, right? No smoke, no real powerful scents; just about 1/4 of the quantity of air that would come out of the exhaust pipe is coming out of the filler neck with the cap off and the engine running. Pretty sure that's normal..could use the reassurance though

Ben is up on the ramps right now cooling off so I can find a pesky coolant leak that went from drip drip drip to Niagara falls overnight. Getting tired of his shenanigans.

Ea82 dash clock ipod upgrade! Now with pics!!!!
That's pretty nifty! I like it. This would be better suited for jailbroken itouch/iphones though as if memory serves me correctly, you can only view the spring-board in it's vertical orientation and not horizontally. Don't remember too well what it's like using the music player, however I'm sure that if it's jailbroken you can just go ahead and get another music player loaded on there if it's bothersome enough. How easy is it to wedge it in there and get it out? Might just do this... I'd be able to set the itouch up with an app to throw a clock on the screen when idle for a minute or so too! That'd be sweet. Great idea!

Dead 1988 GL Wagon - Please Help a confused newbie
Try giving it a jump. Try giving it a rolling jump too, get some momentum and pop the clutch with the key on. Eliminate the possibility of it being your battery. Swap batteries maybe. Just some thoughts, many other routes to go as well as I know others will chime in.

Gas Theft ?
I don't think that's the right mentality to approach this situation with.. Much easier to siphon gas right out of the tank than to start nosing around for fuel lines and more-over actually punch a hole into a gas tank. And personally, regarding the locking/unlocking of the car...after experiencing first-hand just how easy it is to break into these cars (locked my keys in the GL last week; took me about 15 seconds to get in), I don't keep anything of value in them ever, anymore. How'd they get your gas door open? Just pried it out?

'84 EA81 Silver Subaru
Agreed, but when you pull into that gas station just off the highway and you're 3/4 of the way across the country from home with a car full of people and very overloaded with luggage/supplies/bikes, that moment is such a horrible feeling lol. Looking back, it is funny. And fortunate, when it all works out. :-p

Try hooking it up to a lamp! haha, sorry. I don't have any valuable input, just wanted to throw in a little humor. Glad to hear that the engine is running smooth!

'90 Loyale Botox Bumper
I think it's 88 and on, as my 87 GL does still have the better looking bumpers. As far as the impact absorbing foam core goes, when the Loyale ran into a honda last month, the foam didn't absorb sh**. As a matter of fact, the bumper didn't absorb ANY of the impact, it literally just pushed backward and bent everything and anything (buckled fender, bent radiator and electric fan bracket, dented oil filter, slightly tweaked frame-rail)that was in it's way in doing so. So, sturdy..yes. Too much so lol.

You very much like yellow, my friend, don't you? Haha. I saw the earlier post of a bracket painted, you do an excellent job painting. The paint is very even and very thick. Comes out very professional looking.

Overrunning clutch on my 3AT Loyale FWD?
That is a good link to have. Thanks for that. For now, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but if it ever gets worse, I know where to start.

breaking into my car
I have two of these ea82's, a 93 loyale and an 87 GL. The key to the 87 GL (original key) works in the door locks, trunk, glove box, and ignition of the Loyale. It's a bit finicky (gotta wiggle it around a bit) but it works. The key to the Loyale (also original key) however does not work on any of the locks, trunk, glove box, or ignition in my 87 GL. The GL is the car I locked the keys in today lol. Go figure. The key to the Loyale

breaking into my car
Just in case this happens to anybody else, as it just did to me; milesfox' method is by far the easiest. Didn't help me feel too safe about my car after completing it in about 50 seconds either.... Trying to get leverage on something to pop the door lock inward is too much of a pain. Rear doors are indeed easiest. Pop the window out a bit at the top rear corner. Shove a wedge in there to hold it in place. Work the top of the window out of the roof frame a little bit at a time, eventually the window will just pop out completely along the top of the door. Bend the window back at the top forward most part of the window (It has a *lot* of play) shove your arm in and unlock the door. And never keep valuables in your vehicle again after figuring all of this out. Unbelievably easy.

Overrunning clutch on my 3AT Loyale FWD?
Yeah, unless I keep it in 1st or 2nd, just flooring it in D from a stop it still usually shifts around 5500 or so. The 3AT really begs one to exercise their gas pedal. The car is absolutely, horrendously slow, unless you aren't afraid to push the pedal to the floor, and often.
