ShawnW replied to Ross's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I pulled mine off when I did my ej22 conversion. If I saved it I will reply here when I get back home from my trip. -

salvage yard in denver?
ShawnW replied to rusty89wagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You dont see Toyotas at pull n save because they last for freakin ever but more because at the salvage auction they get snagged up before the low bidders (pull a part yards) who wont pay the prices to get them. -
Your prefered cooling system cleaner??

Id love to see a car going down the road blowing bubbles out the exhaust pipe. I know its not possible but it would make my day. -
There are differences and you could get ghost codes but it will run.

Colorado Snow run aka XMAS tree run (minus trees)
ShawnW replied to ShawnW's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I have 2 options I am exploring so that if it dumps snow we aren't SOL....one of the routes would not be good after a foot drops out of the sky and the other wouldnt be any good if it hadnt snowed in the last few days. Ill have it hammered out after Thanksgiving with a few days to spare before the meet. -
How noisy will that be?

Twas my thread to begin with how'd I steal it? Copy cat? Yes, I am copying the Washington guys. Stealing a known good recipe can't be bad. -
The 92 has 14" rims, the OBS probably has 15" rims and the brakes wont clear.

Looks like an ea82 Carb to me. Gotta almost be 86 and older if it is though.

Ugh, I am getting close to done on the wagon and I am finding wiring gremlins from all angles.... frustrated. The headlights dont work at all. No high beam, pull/push stalk nothing, no park lights, dash lights, etc. The 83 Wiring diagram indicates there is 1 relay, the 84 indicates 2. Mick helped me over the phone and found his info says 83 Turbo should have 2 as well. Either way, I cant find anything under the dash that resembles what I typically look for when looking for a headlight relay. Normally 2 round relays just like fuel pump relay in appearance with black plugs according to book....NOT THERE. There is no power at either of the HL fuses (9/10). There is power at all 3 fusible links under the hood. Ive also got a blower motor that wont come on even in position 4. Ill narrow that down tomorrow, for now I just want headlights. If it matters my flashers dont work on the right (pass) side of the car either.

Dealer only for sure. Sorry but I think I would get the 2 weeks started asap and hope it comes in sooner (usually does).

Wagonsonly and WagonsonlySR
ShawnW replied to ShawnW's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Update on car if anybody cares. Two days late on the update too..sorry. Picked car up at wings. A little hard to start but got it going and drove it across town. Temp gauge at around 2/3 unless heater is on (which cooks you like bacon and was lovely on a 20 degree day!). This car doesnt like driving in Denver at altitude, stopping on incline street corners, etc but it made it in typical Subaru style. The people at the auto shipper seemed to really like the car and asked which old guy died so I could get my hands on it and I told em its not mine. Too shay too shay! Makes me wonder if the people that work at funeral homes get a hold of these old rockin condition cars....not worth working at funeral home for it but hmmmmmmmm dirty thoughts. Just squeaked into the auto shipping terminal at 5 till 5. Lady inspected it for dings, dents, scrapes etc and we bolted out of that ghetto area of Aurora....not good area during day even. -
Be right over after I fix my rocketship.

The chain idea isn't half bad it at least would keep the engine from rocking forward.
