  1. Spot torque...... Tighten till you see spots......
  2. I too have done all kinds of stuff just to do it... I did just want to point out some facts. I don't know skishop69 but seems to be your go to guy. I do like the topic though because it is something I work with. As I was looking at a forklift tank mount figuring out how to invert it mout it to have REMOVEABLE 15 gln. tank. I also think there is a tank valve head cap law that is required? Similar to putting tank caps on my bottles in my service van. Even started staring at an indistrial IMPCO system only because it is simple looking.... So I too don't think it is dumb. I think skishop69 was also just giving you facts. Love your thread. Eric
  3. We went to pull and save here in Spokane. What was really cool was we pulled the racks off of a Bronco and a Blazer. It was a lot of fun to try to picture on your car...:-).
  4. While horsing around in my wifes Subaru on our snowy driveway last winter I rolled it up on a boulder shredding the lower from bumper. Can I order these or does it have to be from the dealer. By the way I can no longer play with my wife's car........:-(.
  5. Speaking from an industrial mechanic's point of view which only means really work on LP units every day. I would love chat this topic not even something I would want to do myself personally. Have a couple of questions though. 1. Are you very patient? 2. Do you have a lot of spare time? 3. Do you plan on driving this everyday? There are so many variables that are just different with LP. For instance... Many people try to do this conversion on an engine with high miles. They think that since the engine is within specs according to a Chilton or Haynes it is OK for LP. Compressions have to higher and more even simply because LP is more sensitive to compression differentials. Then they try to adjust regulator or regulators cylinders that are uneven. It will run good till warm. It will run bad cold then runs good. Cheers, Eric
  6. The correct answer is......All of the above......Happened to me too. Easily repaired!
  7. Look on the older subaru's section under common ground or you can click on my thread asking this same question almost a month ago. The author of the common ground explains in detail even diesel mechanic will understand.
  8. Hello All, My son's 1990 Loyale with an EZ82 non-turbo manual transmission, intermittently races to 3500 RPM or so. Just started. Any Ideas?

  10. There is a nice 2 inch lift diagram. Look at some of the pictures posted. My 17 year old son's subaru is posted. It is pretty simple to understand. It is better to start simple like the others suggested. Get to know your subaru little first. Play around with the simple suspension. What is cool with doing that you can get all your stuff from pull and save.
  11. Jack up the front of the car. Remove wheel covers. Grab hold of tire and shake sternly. Take pry bar and pry up and down on tire listen for clunking. Inspect axle nut where attached to hub for signs of spinning. Very common to have splines strip. Inspect CV boot carefully if it has thrown the grease out it probably is bad. If the boot is nice and clean though most likely the wheel bearing like posted above. If you have the time and money do both sides.
  12. My son is so excited! Right speaker on now the left! Pulled the wire as suggested. Now to do the other side.
  13. There is a bad wire. I did a continuity check and one is good the other is open. Now to run a new wire. Thanks Eric.
  14. So after reading the common ground I have been very careful checking the wires. I have an open on the wires going through the hinge point on the right door. How on earth do I replace that wire......? and make it look normal?
  15. Your right! Does it control anything else?
  16. Thanks, Found the single pole wire. It is nice not to splice OEM when ever possible. Eric
  17. There is a black box approximately 4x5 is that it?
  18. Thank you all for the help. I need to print this out tonight and take to the shop and look at it so I know what you all are talking about and go from there. It is appreciated thank you again everyone....Cheers.
  19. My son's GL has an EA-81 on the Leone/Loyale body. It is one of those in between one's. It is not the one in the photo. When you did your connector did it have a yellow unused wire?
  20. This seems pretty insugnificant but I am trying to install a stereo in my son's Subaru GL wagon. Now this is a project car that had been sitting for along time before we got it and it had a stereo stolen out of it. It all the schematics it shows the yellow wire being constant 12 vlt. I can't find a constant 12 any where. Checked all the fuses??????? any Idears?d
