  1. Hummmmm.........Specialty tools........? Duct Tape...... Vice grips....... Hack saw....... I didn't think there were any other specialty tools:cornfuzz: Glenn, 82 Hatch, well it started out as one........ 01 Forester, still looks like one.........
  2. That Delfino is cool! ..............and fast......... Impreza huh.................? Hummmmmmmmmm! Glenn, Thinking......:cornfuzz: Got it!
  3. I wonder if Chevrolet was the one responsible for putting lousy bearings in Foresters:madder: Glenn, 82 Hatch, well it use to be...... 01 Forester, gonna go check the bearings now:cornfuzz:
  4. Let the Dealer tell you! They would probably offer convenient financing option$ too! My local dealer offers an adjustable rate on cap and rotor purchases over $1000.:madder:
  5. I went to the site and I still don't know what a "Rotated American" is? Guess I'm not that good........:brolleye: Glenn, 82 Hatch, well it use to be....:temper: 01 Forester, still is.........
  6. It's also an Isuzu thing! Any forward gear then to reverse and it will behave.:madder: Glenn, Bunches-o-Cars
  7. Buy both, return one.............. Distributor caps are the magic solution to my old EA81. Any time it's running rough-------a cap and rotor cure it every time! It's a no-tools tune up! Good luck, Glenn 82 Hatch, well it use to be......:temper: 01 Forester, still is...........
  8. We're all loosers here! No one cares about old Subies, I'm so ashamed....... I could host a meet and greet in my car and still not be able to drive in the car pool lane.:boohoo: Even if you not into "modifying" your old subie, it's still a great site to keep up on repair info or stuff like that. the people are fun:argue: Glenn, 82 Hatch, 01 Forester,
  9. http://www.thereunionbrat.com/ Any Questions........ Damn I'm good! Glenn, Computer with google
  10. Ask him if he would buy a car without driving it? He's trying to screen out all the yahoos who just want to joyride. but that ain't the way to do it.........:moon: Glenn, Wish I had an STi....
  11. Yes, it finally happend! My little SubaruHummer has new treads. Big Treads! Got my rims last week (they are as wide as they are high). You may have seen them on the Super rare rims thread. If not...... Rim profiles front, side.... Got some Beefy 6 ply's mounted on them this weekend. Front and rear pics. The buggy now needs an electrical system and a shortened exhaust system. Both are about half done. I hope to have it out and about soon!!!!!!! I just wanted to show off my latest pics. I can't Wait!!!!!! This is killing me Glenn, 82 Summer, real close to dun! 01 Forester, Dun!
  12. I agree with Shawn, Those scoops are excellent! Don't get me started on the Forester D/R tranny issue:madder:
  13. Thanks for your help! Good to hear "The Guru of Subaru" made it home............ What a drive! Apparently,.........Little Roo is the little subie that could! Glenn, 82 Bandit, the only one in the country.........(make the other....) 01 Forester, with fake the lift.........
  14. I shopped for both, I didn't care which one I ended up with. I like them both. OBW are a nice looking car, Foresters are a little queer looking. Forester was about a grand cheaper for the same year. If you compare spec for spec you'll see the Forester and Outback are more different than you may think. The Forester is set up more for off-road then the Outback (Clearance etc.) Foresters seem more peppy to me! Glenn, 82 Hatch, well it use to be....... 01 Forester, purchased for 1k under low book with low miles. :temper:
  15. Sweet! Has anyone's GL label plates NOT turned yellow? Nice Ride, Glenn, 82 Hatch, well it use to be........ 01 Forester, still is.........
  16. Your're lucky all 5 tires left SLC! What a great ride! Awasome Rig! I love the looks we got going to the JY. Everyone Looked/staired/gocked! We don't have these here! It's truly an eye catcher. Even the JY guys were gocking when we went away to get the parts. Mudrat thought your disty may be on it's way out? Lack of power up through I-15. We got it just because the price was good and it only had 95k on it! Couldn't hurt for that price. Love your GPS system, Glenn, 82 Summer 01 Forester
  17. Mudrats headed north! John blew out of SLC about sun down heading for Winemucca NV. Little Roo is running much better now, seems to be adjusting to the altitude. While Little Roo was visiting John welded the loop of her push bar. and also picked up a spare distributor ($11.99) from a local Junkyard. During the visit to the JY we saw a deer get hit by a car:burnout: . Mudrat wanted so bad, to strap her on Little Roo and make Stakes. It was good to hook up with both of them. Mudrat is truly the "Guru of Subaru!" and Little Roo is certainly a capable ride in her current state. The thought of the two of them together for a few weeks could be scary:slobber: {Monster Garage} That the latest..... Glenn 82 Summer, looks killer with Little Roos spare 27" super swamper on 01 Forester, Mudrat insists it's too low
  18. From what you guys are telling me it seems as though it is a "universal" type. Box says nothing about direction of flow. The flow diagram looks like this <A-----B> That might mean it can flow either way? Mudrat thought it could go either way too! I'm hookin it up! Thanks for the feed back Glenn 82 Summer, (Subaru Hummer) soon to have an exhaust system. 01 Forester, already has exhaust system!
  19. Just got a new muffler for the Buggy. One end, of the muffler, is off-set the other is centered. It fits better one direction. The problem is the <A-B> stamped on the muffler will be reversed <B-A>. B at the front A at the rear if I install it in the best fitting direction. Is this a problem? Anyone know the <A-B> stamp? I don't know mufflers!:cornfuzz: Thanks, Glenn 82 Hatch, well it use to be......... 01 Forester, still is..............
  20. Little Roo is speeding north bound in southern Utah as we speak. Talked with Mudrat about an hour ago. Little Roo is having some difficulty adjusting to the altitude and the grades, so the journey will be a little slower than expected. Roo should arrive in Salt Lake around Noon. Looking forward to introducing Little Roo to Summer! I know they are going to talk about Moab plans! Thats the latest on Little Roo's Big Adventure. Glenn 82 Summer, with really wide rims! 01 Forester, with factory rims:boohoo:
  21. Didn't supply anything they manufactured them from scratch! They are a little tight up front. I think I told them to make the pilot whole 90mm. Maybe I should have had it made 91mm to account for the thickness of the paint. They are tight on the pilot hole not on the lug holes. Not a major problem. The metal is thick on the back plate, I'm not sure I can get the Subaru Hub cap to stay in:mad: Man they are wide! Glenn, 82 Summer, wants tires now:temper: 01 Forester, even more jealous now
  22. If your dealer is like my dealer they will check EVERYTHING! I thought my car was in good shape till I took it to the dealer. They gave me a list a mile long.......... And they only wanted a million dollars to fix the "Problems?". My guess is if you took it to a dealer they will find EVERYTHING! MY .02 Glenn 82 Hatch, almost finished 01 Forester, finished!
  23. I had them made at TRUDESIGN Inc. in Colorado. Of all the folks I talked with they seemed to know the most about manufacturing a custom rim. They were $80/. As for tire choices, I am able to run any larger ATV tire. I'm thinking on a 26X12X12 as that would be the closest to my current gearing. However they make anything from a 25X12X12 to a 28X12X12, so anything is possible?.........I may go 28's? I'm planning on purchasing tires this weekend. I'll know more Monday! I don't think the weight will be a factor as long as I run something better than a 2ply tire. I'm only considering a 6ply. The Auzzies have been doing this with 4plys for some time now with much success so I figure it should all work. The "SUMMER" should weigh in at around #1300 to #1500 pounds. Glenn, 82 Summer, nearly complete 01 Forester, done!
