85 Brat won't start??
Welcome to the board! Try looking under the rear passenger side for a series of fuel lines going from the tank area to a metal plate. That plate should have your fuel pump and a rear filter on top of it. Glenn, 82 Hatch, well it used to be 01 Forester, bent but not broken........

Burning Smell in 4WD
My hatch does the same thing.............. but I have never been able to pinpoint exactly what it was or where it was coming from. Nor have I really tried to locate it as it does not seem consistant or sevier (this is a burning rubber smell). I have never associated it with the 4wd disengage problem. Seems like two seperate things to me. Not sure that helps you.......... Glenn, 82 Hatch, almost up and rhinoing..... 01 Forester, bent but not broken........

Pics of the woody wagon
I think you should make the Yugo into a highly modified racing Yugo! That will turn heads:slobber: Glenn 82 Hatch, well it used to be.... 01 Forester, bent but not broken......

13 below killed the 78'
My moneys on the water pump/fryed belt combo! A shot of gas treatment to get water out of the tank would not be a bad idea too. Ice in the fuel line sucks too! My .02 Glenn 82 Summer, almost done.... 01 Forester, bent but not broken.....

dash lights, what dash lights??
My Instrument panel does the same thing. If I wiggle the dimmer knob for the dash lights it will come back to life. I'd check to see if your dimmer switch is behaving........If not ground it! Glenn, 82 Summer, with partially installed dash with part time dimmer.... 01 Forester, bent but not broken.............

4X4 snow choice
Hummm........... Maybe I'm missing the point here but I suggest making your hi/lo range decision based off speed. I'd base my speed decision off how slick the conditions are. And in slick conditions I'd down the good old tire pressure! (esp the rear). My experience has been 1. It's easy to accelerate in slick conditions, It's hard to stop! 2. Using 4wd in a corner, it's easy to put your hind quarters ahead of you For fooling around you'll get more wheel speed in 4hi (try cranking the wheels all the way one direction and drop the clutch in reverse on snow)

Need extra battery for plow?
I wanna see pics! Years ago I saw plows for VW Rabbits but never found one for my Subie. Is this a home made plow? Glenn, 82 Hatch, always wanted a plow..... 01 Forester, bent but not broken......

Rough running when accelerating
I've had these problems over the years........ I found a basic tune up will cure 99% of everything. Wires, Cap, Rotor.... Being winter, I'd also try a bit of fuel line treatment to get any water out of the system. My .02 Glenn, 82 Hatch, well it started out that way...... 01 Forester, bent but not broken...........

Radio controlled Brat on Ebay
I don't believe everything I see. I have to wonder if there some fuzzy? activity going on to boost the bidding? A Brat is not worth that much and can be had on EBAY for less. A Toyota Brusier is the only thing that will command a price like that and then only in the box new. Hummmm? Glenn, Way too many R.C. things to list...........

Bent headlights
Bolt some Dog-Gone driving lights to the hood and be done with it!

Tried my hand at Body Work, for the 1st time.
Bash the other side in and make it look like a factory option? Some Hood Pins would fit nice in those depressions. Lookin good Brian! ( I'm not sure but, think I saw part of your engine under all that mud ) Glenn, 82 Summer, almost wired.... 01 Forester, bent but not broken.........

replacing heater core Q's
All the above. Sell the car and buy another with a better heater! I removed mine and installed it in the buggy. Boy am I glad I don't have to put that back together:( I think Subaru starts the assembly line with the heater and builds the car around it........ Glenn, 82 Summer, just about wired....and heated....... 01 Forester, bent but not broken........ Does it matter if the (heater) hoses are connected backwards?

Snow!!!
It's been snowing here since Christmas. We have 2 feet on the ground and more expected today and next week. Enough is enough! Some folks have been with out power for 5 days now. Just a little rest would be nice Bitch, bitch, bitch........ Glenn, 82 Summer, almost wired.... 01 Forester, bent but not broken....

What does this do?
If I remove the stop lamp checker (un-plug), will it mess anything up? I want to remove as much usless wiring as I can. This one has 6 wires attached to it. If I get rid of this will the dash light be on? Thanks, Glenn 82 Summer, almost wired....... 01 Forester, bent but not broken........

Utah Users Unite!
There have been some others wondering about a Moab Trip too. I think our biggest problem is over hang. Slick Rock don't give much. I can forsee a lot of metal being removed from the underside:eek: Gearing would be a problem on some trails depending on the direction we run them? Big tires will just aggrivate our poor gear ratio:mad: And yes, I hate to admit it but some trails are just out of our league (Prichett, Helldurado..... I think it will be a reality in 2004 Rubicon now Moab!...................? I'm in Glenn 82 Summer, just about ready for Moab. 01 Forester, ain't gear'd for Moab.

Happy Holiday
Ditto. Be off the boad for a few days. Merry Christmas:santa: Glenn, 82 Summer, maybe I can get it finished over the holidays. 01 Forester, wearing a wreath up front.

Another Goofy Idea--Storage in Spare Tire Area
Maybe if you let all the air out your "spare" tire will fit better? Oh, never mind...............I'll just leave now.......... Glenn, 82 Summer, no spare:eek: 01 Forester, flat spare.....fits better.

New Rims?
I had some custom made for the SubaruHummer but they weren't cheap! .....Food for thought........? Glenn, 82 Summer, custom rims:D 01 Forester, Factory stamped out steel:mad: Atv rims will go 4 X 144 (close but no cigar).

Bet we could carbon date it! It looked like a 13 volt to me.............. Or maybe a 14 volt. (Whatever it takes) Glenn, I'll be quiet now.

GL Wagon Lift Gate Struts and Mounts
Make sure you observe them holding up the hatch before you purchase them. My.02 Glenn 82 Hatch, struts haven't held up the hatch for at least 10 years. (the long snow scrapers will work perfectly for this) 01 Forester, struts still holding strong.

Subaru in National Geographic?
I think the 1503 B.C. GL Had the square wheels and the 1504's had the dual round ones? Which years did they offer the wood siding? I did a "search" on it and nothing came up. Didn't any of our ancestors post on this? Glenn, 82 Summer 01 Forester (I need a shift knob for a 1505 DL)......anyone?.....Moosens?...... (I think any EA02 will fit)
