  1. I was getting my Forester safety inspected recently and the inspector said none of the rear lights worked? I pulled out several of the rear bulbs and put them back in again and everything came back to life? Have you messed with your bulbs? It worked for me? (and who knows why?) Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester--all lit up again...
  2. S'ko, We have elected you the official promoter of WCSS7. However, some how, I think we are looked down upon by others in the 4weeling community. I have to wonder if we could get a good serious write up in the magazine. It would be cool if we could though?
  3. I have no choice with my 82 GL 4th is my top gear and I'm turning 3k @ 55mph Wifes car turns 3k @ 80mph Useless info that probably doesn't help you a bit! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  4. Does Engine Brite hurt paint I have Simple Green around but have never used it under the hood? Thanks, Glenn
  5. How are you going to insure it's balanced? When I built the Buggy, I had the pro's do it because, I figured I wouldn't get it right? Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--18" taken out of the D/L 01 Forester
  6. There is no easy way. I second what TheAlleyBoy said, Engine Brite and some Quarters. I let it soak in while driving to the car wash. What won't come up after that...Engine Brite and a scraper/scrubber. Once it's clean, Keep it that way!!!
  7. Right! They have got to be mounted exactly as they were. Make sure the part numbers are the same. In my Trooper I had to use the opposite rear in the front to replace the mechanisms. It's a cheap easy fix.
  8. I does seem kinda like a party at a dealership. I'd bet if you had that many old school Subarus together you wouldn't finds two alike. Probably not even close. I think the old ones have more character/dents I like the new Subies, I just like the old ones better. I can see all the new ones I want at any given intersetion. I don't see a gen 1 or 2 even once a month. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  9. I love the mirrors on the front fenders. Why do they have those and the larger side view mirrors too? Reminds me of the real old Japanese cars. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  10. Ok, I admit it, I got the "turbo" emblem off a Mustang. I had it on the car for 20+ years and no one ever said a thing, Not even the dealer! The sad truth is there are no real Turbo Hatches, and I think there was only one fake one :-p Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer--no place to put the "turbo" emblem 01 Forester--plenty of places to put emblems???
  11. Here's one. http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo21/subleftrear Turbo just below the 4WD emblem on the hatch.
  12. I've swapped front to rear before on different vehicles. Worked fine. Rear seat belts are usually just about new.
  13. Cool videos My favorite part was the frozen lake shots. I don't think the WRX in the mud, will ever come clean again Love the videos,
  14. My lawn mower has more horsepower.
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7974495035&category=42604 This has got to be the secret we have been looking for Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  16. I was out of town too (Moab). I never heard about this either? Something Subaru Related finally happens in SLC and no one here knew about it? Just glad it was not my Subaru Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  17. Put your Pugs on and be done with it! You could waste Pug money on fixing this problem...? Re-check your tire size, tire pressure and do some rotation experiments.
  18. You can't change the past but... It sounds like things are working out well. If they total the car you can mess with it even more. Or if it's not fixable, you do have your three door. You may get some play money out of this? Hope everything goes well! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  19. Do it your self. Rotors can be purchased almost as cheap as you can turn them. If a caliper is hanging up replace it. Use your angle grinder key to spin the pistons in... and call it good. I've done it w/o real tools before. Just another opinion... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  20. I used basic measuring tools. As long as you measure "center to center" of the wholes you should be good to go. Before you drill measure the distance between all the lugs and the distance from one lug to the next. If they are all the same you should be good to go! Center punch the holes before you drill to eliminate, drill bit wandering problems... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=1386&sort=1&cat=500&page=2 Easy!!! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  21. Oh ya...Welcome to the board!!!
  22. A grinder might work well??? Give me two minutes with a grinder and I'll get them lug nuts off. Prolly won't be reusable but it will still be fun!!! Don't take no for an answer Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  23. A dealer can cut a new key from your vin. The key code is in their database. My Subaru Dealer will cut "courtesy" keys for free. Give a new key a shot! If it still won't play, I'd look to a Junk yard for a new switch. If you want to get fancy then collect all the locks out of the JY car and "rekey your whole car". Look for a JY car with a good key. The key codes for the lock are inside the door on the lock if you can't find a perfect JY key. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  24. If you rebuilt it then it should be close to ready to run? What is the engine not doing? Can you give us some details? If I'd rebuilt it, I'd be looking to make it pay me back with some good trouble free drivin! Let the board take a crack at figuring out what's wrong. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
