  1. A grinder might work well??? Give me two minutes with a grinder and I'll get them lug nuts off. Prolly won't be reusable but it will still be fun!!! Don't take no for an answer Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  2. A dealer can cut a new key from your vin. The key code is in their database. My Subaru Dealer will cut "courtesy" keys for free. Give a new key a shot! If it still won't play, I'd look to a Junk yard for a new switch. If you want to get fancy then collect all the locks out of the JY car and "rekey your whole car". Look for a JY car with a good key. The key codes for the lock are inside the door on the lock if you can't find a perfect JY key. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  3. If you rebuilt it then it should be close to ready to run? What is the engine not doing? Can you give us some details? If I'd rebuilt it, I'd be looking to make it pay me back with some good trouble free drivin! Let the board take a crack at figuring out what's wrong. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  4. I've got an extra one of those! Trade you for a 429547014 (controls the pump for the carter webber carb) Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--needs a backup 429547014 01 Forester
  5. 90k I think your still under warrantee Take it to the dealer for the 90k breakin adjustments! I wouldn't change anything else unless it needs it... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  6. I've tried the double sided foam tape :-\ They don't last long. I tried the rubber double sided tape Works but hard to find. Depending on the trim, I've used RTV Black Works well on trim that can be held in place for the long drying time. (duct tape holds it steady for a while...) Good luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  7. I saw one in the Junk Yard in Moab last weekend :-\ The mileage on the car was 299990.6 This poor 1600 was 9.4 miles from 300000 when it got hit. I felt kinda bad for the poor fella.
  8. Think you could fit a Forester Dual Range tranny in your suit case somewhere? Oh ya, I need the plastic interior parts too! Enjoy your trip! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  9. I generally like Subaru's that become taller but, I think you've done a nice job with that one. Rims are keepers! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  10. It's amazing what they build out of Subarus http://www.rqriley.com/doran.html Heres a link. Looks cool! Says it's fast!!! Keep us posted. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  11. That bar is cool. Why do you have to remove the grill, when your using it? No hijack intended.
  12. Welcome to the Dark Side... Remember...Old Subies never die, They Just get taller! Keep us posted on your progress! Good Luck, Glenn
  13. The video is great! I thought that terrain looked familiar. We call that, the West Desert. Lookin Good! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  14. I had my Forester done, it didn't take 20 minutes... However, I'd never try anything like that on my own. If you break it you loose your $75!!! There is also the old windshield removal to deal with... If you brake it...it could be messy? I'd opt for $100 worth of insurance and have it installed. Good Luck, Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer--Lexan windshield 01 Forester--replacement windshield
  15. Mike, You can just unplug the tweeters in your window pillar. It's just a clip on the back side of the tweeter. I added the factory ones in (didn't come with the car) and I love the difference in the sound. The higher frequencies are more directional than the lower ones, so a tweeter in your window pillar should give you better sound. The new ones in the door will be pointing in a different direction? What's wrong with 2 sets of tweeter? Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--no stereo anymore... 01 Forester--Non-factory stereo, factory tweeters!
  16. Are the EA81 diffs and the EA82 diffs the same? or at least interchangeable? They look the same?
  17. If your 84 has it, You need to look and see if you can find a cable going from the clutch cable area under the hood to the brake booster area. The cable that actuates the Hill holder works off the clutch and controls a spring loaded valve on your brake system. You should be able to look under the hood and see if the cable has been removed or is just out of adjustment. I think you'll find it obnoxious for 4wding (you can't roll backwards with the clutch in). Good luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--wouldn't have the HH clutch!!! 01 Forester--not an option.
  18. I wanna see whats going on. Linkie, no workie! :-\
  19. Impreza makes a nice little lifted ride! Are the AZ ones geared? as in D/R? Lookin Good, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--lifted and geared! 01 Forester--needs lifting and gearing
  20. I can't as mine are just tiny rusted nubs.
  21. FYI, I'm back in Moab this weekend... Going to do some of the rougher trails. Behind the Rocks, then down Prichett. Poisen Spider, to Golden Spike then down Gold Bar. Moab Rim, in and out. Killer Kane, to the mine, then through the mountain to the other side I'm looking to do some of the Ugly Stuff this trip. No I'm not taking the Buggy. Summer is once again staying home. "Stay Summer Stay!" "Sit!" This time I'm going to take the Trials Bike, as it will make short work of the 4+ crap! I'm hoping to get a better feel for the worst Moab has to offer. By the end of this trip I should be real close to doing all the 4+ trails! I have been working on this for years If anyone is going to be in Moab this week/weekend and wants to hook up, let me know. Glenn 1974 Honda TL--I'm gonna be sore :-\
