  1. I'm hooking up brake, turn, reverse lights on Summer (used to be and 82 Hatch in a previous life) and one rear turn signal does not light or flash? On the problem side, the front blinker stays on solid. The other side works fine front and rear? The hazards work fine? I'm using the original wiring harness. I traced the rear blinker wire and and I'm not getting any volts to the wire at the glove box connector area? The wiring from the front plug (glove box area) is good to the rear light. Any thoughts on why one side works fine and the other just stays on solid/does not light? Thoughts, insults, suggestions? Glenn 82 Summer, my little Subaru Hummer! 01 Forester, jealous!
  2. Is a 30 ohm 1/4 watt going to take me down from 13.8v or so down to 5 volts? Is this something Radio Shack would carry? Thanks, Glenn
  3. My GL never made it to 75mph in 22 years! Glenn, 82 Hatch, been to 74!!!!! 01 Forester, 95 uphill!
  4. That kinda excites me:eek: Amazing!..... Simply..... Amazing! A job well done!
  5. Seems to me if you turn the truck upside down the ovals should be running the right direction and everything should fit right? Sorry to hear of your delay. Mudrat, Is this the secretmobile? Glenn, 82 Summer, it is alive...... 01 Forester, alive and kicking!
  6. Sick? That still has paint left on it! That's not sick! That's a starting platform for a mean off-roader! Glenn, 82 Hatch, will it used to be..... 01 Forester, still is....
  7. I have 4 of the same cheapies the Subaru Junkie has, so far they are a great light and for the price they can't be beat! For headlights I'm using the round "Baja's". I like them too! Glenn 82 Summer, with more lights than I'll ever need........ 01 Forester, with factory driving lights......
  8. Please remain calm............ This is not a Hijacking! Both Checker and AutoZone want 28.XX and 29.XX EACH Side! I might have to pay a visit to JC or even the JY:headbang: Has anyone tried to install rear hatch lifts for the hood lift on there old subies? (back on track ) Glenn 82 Summer, up and running! 01 Forester, up and screeming! 92 Camry, with optional broomstick!
  9. Looking for feed back from anyone who has installed a non-factory stereo in a Forester. I'm looking for something to replace my factory stereo. I have found the unit I want (sony). The store has "free" installation for $36.00? They say it's for adapters an connectors. Seems like a heck of a price for a plastic connector and a metal bracket. When I had one installed in my Camry, they had it installed in 5 minutes! My question is how easy is it to install one in a Forester? I have replaced my dash with the "wood grain", so I'm familiar with disassembly to gain access to the general area of the stereo. Feeling cheap! Glenn, 82 Beast, that now runs! 01 Forester, needs a working clock and a better stereo:mad:
  10. The clock in my 01 Forester has gone out:banghead: The clock has just gone dead. I did a search and found nothing:confused: Anyone else heard of this? It's driving my wife nuts:madder: Any help appreciated.... Thanks, Glenn 82 Hatch, well it started out as one.... 01 Forester, it's time has ended.......
  11. I just priced them for my Camry and the wanted $60.00 I think my broom stick will have the work for now....
  12. Does it have rear steering? ....or..... would that be front steering?
  13. If I'm not mistaken primer is not a sealer. If you just use primer the rust will come right back because its not sealed:confused: You have to top coat the primer to seal the surface. Even after that you should use several coats to insure the top coat is really sealed. Bedline or undercoat the whole thing? Good luck, Glenn, 82 Summer, up and running.... 01 Forester, always running.....
  14. Most of my cars do this and have for ever..... I agree with everyone else, Check you coolant level....
  15. This site is fun. Flying Subies Subarus are everywhere!
  16. BlueSoob, Sorry to hear of your pain:banghead: Keep us updated on your Forester, Glenn:wave:
  17. Doors won't work, 2 door vs 4 door. Hood, fenders, windshield, mudflaps, gas cap covers, etc... will work. Come take a look and see if there is anything you can use. It's probably all junk but it may be worth a look??? Give me a pm with your # and I'll call. Thanks, Glenn 82 Hatch, going, going...... 01 Forester, keeps going & going!
  18. I'd bet it is your dash light dimmer switch. Have you monkey'd around with your dimmer? Mine used to flash off and on as I moved it dimmer to brighter and if I messed with it wrong it would go dark! I was always able to mess with mine and it would work then I'd leave it alone. I'd look to your headlight switch first!
  19. Hey Utah folks.... I have Hatch parts to give away...... See my post in the market place forum for info. I'd like to see them live on rather than recycle them. Think about dumb little parts you could use:confused: No shipping charges if you pick them up! Glenn, 82 Hatch, now with a new off-road look! 01 Forester, wannabe off-roader:eek:
  20. Jason, Good to hear from you. Get deploied so you can get back! In Moab, with a winch, we could have got Little Roo where ever we needed her. Lots of good vertical "kodak moments" What's your angle of approach? You have a skid plate on that beast? I need to make one before Moab---even though it will just get torn off:eek: By the way the beast is up and running I'll be doing some serious shake down work this spring, getting the bugs out of the buggy. I should have a tested and true rig when you return. Glenn, 82 Hatch, well it started out as one.... 01 Forester, still is.....
  21. I went out and checked my 82 spare..... It was a t135 70d 15. How about that a 15" rim for subies? Aint no way your gonna get a super swamper on that rim:banghead: Glenn 82 Hatch, transformed! 01 Forester, stock!
  22. Not sure if it's listed here or not but here is a link to Mudrat's for sale site. Oregonoffroadsubaruclub Hope this helps... Glenn 82 Summer, It's alive, thanks for your help, Mudrat! 01 Forester, ya, I know...it needs a lift!
  23. Funny you should mention that? I've been thinking on doin that! Checker plate and Rhino lining--what a concept! Could it get any cooler? I've been looking at the different methods of applying that stuff. My worry in spraying is on a tube frame most of it will end up as overspray:mad: Rolling may leave a real rough finish and brushing may leave too smooth of finish? I'm looking for a spatter finish about the consistency of a textured wall or Rhino liner? Anyone had any experience/recomendations for a tube frame application? The Krylon I put on originally will scrape just by looking at it! Ideas? Glenn, 82 Summer, almost done... 01 Forester, done!
  24. With a commute like that, might I suggest a model with a "T" associated with it. My .02 Glenn 82 Summer, almost done..... 01 Forester, done......
  25. mtsfabman, All the pics I have are Here! It's a rough time line done with my video camara for still pics. (I maintain the basic tube chassis could be done in two weeks just working evenings) The things I have left are mostly cosmetic, however they are time consuming. (finish dashboard/console, mount tail lights, install rear floor, rear seats, rear fenderwells and mount the winch!) Done! Glenn, 82 Summer, almost done! 01 Forester, done!
