  1. no it just lined up... i'll take a pic tomorrow for ya
  2. so the brat is up on jack stands yet again in the process of bracing the rear suspension (sorry no pics yet). and ive got a good set of axles headed my way! also ive started swapping rotors calipers and shoes between the wagon and brat. decided i wanted to paint the valve covers because it was snowing and cold and i wanted to work inside, and i have to say im really glad i did because whoever took the valve covers off last didnt put any gaskets back on, and didnt even tighten them down all the way! the bolts were finger tight. i guess that explains why everything is COVERED in oil. anyway i took some paint stripper and sprayed it on the valve covers, let it sit for 15 minutes or so, and washed it off with hot water. 2 or three repetitions of that and they were clean as can be! then i took sandpaper and got the little rust spots and roughed it all up, primed them (2 coats), and painted them gold. yes, i know, gold. but i like it
  3. hitachis do some weird stuff, just go weber if you can
  4. yeah, sorry about that by the way that was before i set up paypal, now i have paypal so it will work out fine. yeah 35 bucks sounds fair, i had somebody who wanted it too, but they changed their mind because its a craig
  5. these old 4 speeds always have a ton of slack in them, its mainly from the bushing where the bolt holds the shifter to the fork thingy. sorry i dont know the correct names haha. only one of the half shafts will turn, if you held onto the spinning tire, the other side would spin, thats how differentials work. here's your rotor! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Subaru-Brat-Front-Disc-Brake-Rotor-40549004-OPparts-/111192083924?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ASubaru%7CModel%3ABrat&hash=item19e3908dd4&vxp=mtr
  6. theres just not much to say about that

  8. Well, when my datsun did that same thing it was the distributor cap and rotor
  9. i could get the money for gas, but my brat wont be ready for that long of a trip yet is the thing haha. i have to brace my rear lift blocks, one of the bolts busted holding the torsion bar in place
  10. btw... if you want some 4x140 chromies i could sell mine to you!
  11. i wish i could go its too far away for me
  12. mazda rx7 rims wont bolt straight on, you will have to take your hubs off and have them redrilled for the correct lug pattern... just making sure you know
  13. just never really had a reason to i suppose
  14. Yeah i had concerns about mine as well, but i have no budget for a rebuild so just swapped over a low mileage one
  15. i would like to know this as well
  16. one stock set of rims from a late 70 wagon- $75 one set of somewhat rusty jackmans- $150 one set of good condition chrome rims off a loyale- $200 good set of headrests from a first gen brat- SOLD push bar for a first gen brat or wagon, rusty and slightly pitted but not bent- $50 i would really prefer not to have to ship rims, but if you figure out how i'm not dead set against it.
  17. so its been a few days, ive repaired the valance, kind of. its fixed, but its really ugly. i have no experience with body panel repair and cant get my welder to work properly. but hey its solid anyway. oh and i got the drivers side fender patched, just gonna take a lot of bondo to smooth out... oh well. oh and i got my wagon and brat back up at my shop
