  1. http://www.subaruforester.org/ Look there as they may have the specifics on it. The only Forester manual I have is for a 2007, and I think that is too far removed from your year. nipper
  2. YOu need suck squish bang to get combustion. Right now all you have is what is required for bang. You need to do a compression test first. Without compression you can rebuild the carb all you want and it wont run. Also carb issues slowly appear over time, and dont suddenly occur with a bang. nipper
  3. Blu has 245,000 miles on him and i conside him "middle aged" 125,000 miles your just past break in. Of course there is the flip side that we need everyone who can afford to to buy a new car, but if thats the only reason, your car has plenty of life left in it. nipper
  4. yup, there is also a one for 2000 ish models due to the PS hose. nipper
  5. I tried soaking mine, but I finally got the little 4.99 tool to remove it from the auotparts store and it popped right off. nipper
  6. Well i can do it the old fashioned way, im a nig fan of the postal system.
  7. Clutch cable is going. Dont worry it will get really easy to press soon. Of course it will only go down at that point. nipper
  8. Espically considering the first one i think was a russian lada the first one scared me to no end
  9. Remove the switch and replace it? Just a thought. Sounds like a loose wire or bad switch. mipper
  10. Re you really sure you checked the timing? The hardest thing to bend is connecting rods, you really really really REALLY have to work at it, and it usually means there is a hole in the block to match it. piston rods are "connecting" rods. There is something else going on here, i bet the low compresssion is just on one side of the engine. Who told you about the connecting rods? nipper
  11. er um, seems like someone bought into thier "marketing" though P.T. Barnum had a better way of saying it. nipper
  12. Well is is much easier to apply window tint on the outside of the windshield (Trust me i know way too many computer geeks, that is thier logic). nipper
  13. check tires, rear end grease, carrier bearing. Sometimes when you cant trace a noise you have toi wait for it to get louder to find it. nipper
  14. Once again an important question, how many miles are on the engine. Also important a compression test to see the overall health of the engine. Years dont matter but mileage does on this decidion. Its always better to go with a known risk then an unknown risk. Also has this engine ever been overheated or cooked? nipper
  15. check the transmission mount and the carrier bearing. Any mysterious high speed (subtle) vibration that comes and goes? nipper
  16. and just as i thought, so far the LISC people are wussing out. nipper
