  1. That was easy to find. 76 is the 2-4 brake timing solenoid. It is detecting either an opne or a short circuit. FOund it resistamce is 10-16 Ohms. Signal from the TCU should be higher then 9 volts. The proper way to test the output requires getting the car up to 40 mph. It seems like something straight forward to check as far as no surprises in the circuit. nipper
  2. For that i have to send you the manual, as they speak of voltages and it is sort of spread out all over the manual.
  3. OH COME ON! It's tradition now, someone is going to teach thier sooby how to swim, it's just a quesion of whom. It's tradition! nipper
  4. But thats over on the mainland. i am on a long skinny island (and would never take a sick car to the bronx). nipper
  5. I had mine rebuilt locally by a drive shaft shop since junkyards are few and far between here. nipper
  6. i need a link for directions so I can post it on the LISC site. Lets see if any of them want to get thier riceburners dirty . nipper
  7. Ah ok. Outback spring rates are based on the Legacy, outback sport based on the imprezza. One car is much heavier then the other. I would stick with same weight class, There may even be physical size differnces. nipper
  8. Not quite sure what you are asking nipper
  9. If the O2 sensor is shorted out you wont be able to clear the codes, and it may not even show up as a code either. I went through that with Blu, but hes on PBDII. Just a thought. nipper
  10. resealinbg the oil pump with the proper sealant gets done at either 105,000 oe 120,000 miles depending upon the timing belt interval (60,000 x 2). And i am surprised no one has said it yet.. PEPBOYS BAD! nipper
  11. 1- Lock Up Duty 2- Line Pressure 3- Low Clucth Timing 4- Shift Solenoid 2 5- Shift Solenoid 1 6- 2-4 Brake Timing Solenoid 7- 2-4 Brake Duty Solenoid
  12. Acn you handle a 14,000 KB email, I have a manual form a 2002 Imprezza if that would help.
  13. Well i have to post a date on the LI sooby list as some of those folks want to come. nipper
  14. a fool and his money. Sometime you have to pay a professional to repair what you can't, there is nothing foolish or wasteful about it. All i said was to diagnose it. nothing about fixing it. And actually its about 850.00. The logic behind the age of the car is silly. Is fomeone said you needed four tires at 500-600 bucks do you junk the car? Good luck whatever you choose to do. nipper
  15. It can be touchy and doesnt always work. Sometimes you have to surrender and take it to a dealer and have them read it. nipper
  16. I'm surrounded by wierdos. When i had mine out of blue and the silver legacy (98 and 97) the gaskest were fine. I reused mine. I reused the ones in Blu several times. nipper
  17. call an online dealer and they will know exaclty what your talking about. https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/oe_parts_cat.html www.1stsubaru.com

  20. Look at a neighbors http://www.bikewebsite.com/bicycle-bra2.htm look at the second picture and see how the barrel of the cable sits in the hole. nipper
  21. Now repeat seven times repeat something to yourself 7 times after you hear it...you will never forget it
  22. No no no thats not it. Do you have a bicycle with hand gbreaks around to look at. The but end of the cable sits in the both holes in the cam (roataion arm) on the hill holder. They way you have it the hill holder will drag the brakes and snap the cable. Loosen the hill holder cable at the clutch fork to get slack. nipper
  23. 237.00 at first subaru (n/a 2.5L). Look up Alt Rebuilders, Auto electric repair in your local yellow pages. You may be able to find a local rebuilder, but be warned, sometimes the volt regular or diode trio (well they are more then trios now) can cost more then just getting a rebuilt alt. nipper
