  2. OH WAIT!! NOW I GET IT!!! Just a bunch of talk. PIctures look good tho -Brian
  3. I dont get it??? So does this mean i can use a front LSD in my RX?? -Brian p.s. Im just kidding, i read the thread :-p
  4. Unless your wagon is 2WD, then you'd want to use the Leone/Loyale Turbo 2WD. I believe in 1987 they changed the MAF and a couple other things. But the engines are the same, EA82T's. -Brian
  5. http://www.picknpull.com check there for locations. I think theres one close to you. -Brian
  6. Thanks Tex. Makes my ordeal seam alittle better Hate to suggest it, but maybe less boost? -Brian
  7. On wagons you can lift the rear bench and gain access to the bolt to the rear torsion bar. I know on brats you have to crawl under the car to reach it, and i dont know how to reach it on hatches. Its 17 or 19mm, i cant remember. -Brian
  8. EA81 4WD have adjustable front and rear. If its 2WD it wont have it. -Brian
  9. Turbo EA81s have Injector boss's in them for the MPFI. They are completly different than a N/A or Carburated EA81 Head. -Brian
  10. I didnt remove the AC on my RX, I got it with the A/C already removed. But my engine only has 1 belt running everything. -Brian
  11. Oh, the little tab that holds your brake line maybe off alittle. But I think struts have tabs on both sides, maybe for this occasion. Anyhow, it should work with no problems. -Brian
  12. When I took my drivers license test, growing up in Alaska, I would have passed with no marks except for I coasted to a stop at a light. I was told by my instructor that I should have downshifted from 3rd to 2nd, that coasting to a stop in 1st was okay but its illegal to remove the car from gear and coast. So Alaska is one state, and im sure there are plenty of others. I doubt you'll get a ticket for coasting, but if you loose control of your vehicle on a downhill slope, and veer off the freeway and cause an accident... im sure you'll be cited for coasting I wont try to explain why its safer to remain in gear. Anybody who has any bit of common sence should be able to understand why. -Brian
  13. Does anyone here REALLY know what the purpose of your signature is? Its not your little spot of advertisment on the internet which you can say any ole thing you want. If thats what your looking for, visit http://www.myspace.com Its also not for you to list every single vehicle you've ever owned in your lifetime. Nor is it a spot to preach your religious beliefs. Avatars are one thing, signatures are something completly different. Put Jesus in your avatar... nobody will say a thing. But list a few versus from the bible which have absolutly nothing to do with subarus... and yes a few people will have a couple words to say (and sorry if they arent as nice as scripture). -Brian
  14. They arent side specific, but they are directional. There is a front and a backside to the strut, but I believe the left will work find on the right side and vise versa. The hubs, however, ARE side specific. There's no way to use a passenger side hub on the drivers side. -Brian
  15. Is that $40 for an entire set? I dont see how rings will just fail... havent heard of anyone having problems on non-OEM rings either. And CCR were the 1st people i contacted. They told me they dont sell parts, just engines. With all the money I've spent and am looking at spending... i could have bought a CCR engine by now -Brian
  16. Hey spiffy... i suggest you do what Ed said. That sounds like the easiest way, and its probably time for the battery terminals to be cleaned anyhow. Its cool to see you got an impreza No wheelin in this one eh'? -Brian
  17. I dont see $450 as being innexpensive or cheap. Arent phantoms like $300? -Brian
  18. Russ, your right. Im getting deeper and deeper into this project every week. I have my heads at the shop now being worked on, im sure thats gonna run me $250-$300. The block i got from the yard will need to be honed before it can be used... shop labor and parts (at this rate) will run me another $300-$400.... or I can goto the yard and try my luck again with another random block. *sigh* With rings and bearings priced the way they are, im leaning toward trying my luck with another block. -Brian
  19. But its never a bad idea to have them straight anyways And its probably not a good idea to shift from high to low if you're peeling out. -Brian
  20. Yeah, you should only need to remove the head where the bolt inserts from, so 1 gasket is all thats lost. -Brian
  21. Yeah, too bad we only got 2 days tho -Brian
  22. This happend to my EA81. My friend used the key to my 78 on my 84 and got it stuck in there with the key in the ON position. I was unable to move the key, but using some vice grips I yanked it out of the ignition (in order to drive my 78) but the ignition was still stuck in the on position. So i pulled the underside of my steering column, and disconnected the wiring harness connector from the ignition to keep my battery from draining. Then everytime I wanted to start my car, i would just plug the connection back together, and short 2 terminals on the back of the ignition itself (where the wires are soldered). That would crank the starter, and when the car was started it would remain running Pain in the rump roast, but it was cheap. Has been working to this day. -Brian
  23. Jerry, thats who gave me the part numbers Im not blaming her for the high prices, but $250... even $175 was more than I Was expecting. Maybe I'll just leave it up to a machine shop to get the parts and i'll just close my eyes when I pay the bill :-\ -Brian
  24. If that were the case I wouldnt need to be buying any myself. But this block I have will need to be honed and that means new rings and bearings too. -Brian
