Are these possible to get (lights)
TheSubaruJunkie replied to tizzle's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
There was a set on eBay a while ago. They went for a pretty penny. When I lived in Alaska, I walked into a pawn shop. They had 2 sets sitting on a shelf still in the box. SOA factory options, with wiring, switch, relays and all. Even installation instructions. The guy wanted $35ea so i bought them both. used a set and sold a set. This was probably 8 years ago now... but yes, they exist somewhere. -
quick (and retarded) question

Yes, high beams are inner. Low & Highs are outer. -
1988 gl value
TheSubaruJunkie replied to silverracerkh2005's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
In this case, your car is priceless. No KBB or Craigslist or even a car dealer can place a price on your vehicle. Don't let it go. And yes, keep an eye out in the meet and greet. Would be cool to see this multi million dollar EA82 at a meet sometime. -
1988 gl value
TheSubaruJunkie replied to silverracerkh2005's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Okay girls lets settle down. Start from the beginning here: There really is nowhere. Actually, there is. Its called Craigslist and eBay. You will find KBB to be very generous in their estimates. Your car is probably going to net you 60% of what KBB sais its worth, unless it was garaged its entire life and has 40,000 miles on it. You will find that a stock and as close to original car will usually get more money than a modified car. Your car isnt a classic, so you cant play that card either. To put it blunt, your car isnt worth 2 or 3,000. and its nowhere near the $7000 you claim to have put into it. And I doubt they are "selling" in tahoe for $3000. http://reno.craigslist.org/car/502347222.html http://reno.craigslist.org/car/508733595.html http://reno.craigslist.org/car/512284550.html Granted none of these are babied. They dont have "MP3 stereo CD players" and whatever else you put into your car (what CAN you spend $7000 on anyhow???) But they do show the current market value for a EA82 WAgon, which is essentially what you have here. Heck... even Legacy's and Impreza's arent even selling for $3000 http://reno.craigslist.org/car/510803141.html http://reno.craigslist.org/car/510177010.html http://reno.craigslist.org/car/501679351.html So I'm sorry if you dont like what GD is saying, but you did ask a question and Im not sure what type of response you were looking for but this is the response you are getting. Just keep yourself happy and don't try to sell the car. -Brian -
Swapping Center Consoles
TheSubaruJunkie replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I tried it. The EA81 5spd console is way bigger than the 4WD -
Swapping Center Consoles
TheSubaruJunkie replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The 2WD shifter sits farther back than the 4WD. No it will not fit, not even modifications will allow it. You would have to destroy the console or move your shifter. -
Looking to buy a Subaru
TheSubaruJunkie replied to tidd1340's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
For $3000, look for a legacy. For $2000 you can find a real decent one between '91-'93, and spend the extra $1000 on new tires or something. For $3000 you maybe able to find a newer legacy in the 95-97 Range. -Brian -
Where can you get this scoop?
TheSubaruJunkie replied to psychsurf's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Its some aftermaket scoop. Manufactured to look like the WRX scoop but is slightly smaller so it fits the EA82 hood. Only one I have seen is Calebs. I think there are a couple more, but no idea who makes em. -

Most places wont even hook it to their machine if the CEL is on. -

Use two of them HAHA, yeah that is pretty small... thought it was bigger. -
EA82T turbo outlet size?
TheSubaruJunkie replied to psychsurf's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Its cool, im glad you did. That was the only measurement I wasnt 100% on. Its been so long since I did mine. And I think this scoop looks way cool. If it fits the hump of the EA82 hood, i think it would fit the body lines nicely. -
EA82T turbo outlet size?
TheSubaruJunkie replied to psychsurf's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
1.75" hehehe, looks like I was right. Damn my memory, i guess im not getting old afterall! -
well cause the donut is a temp rim & tire. They are 16" steels and are definatly not made to be used as a daily tire. The EA series subarus were never offered with anything larger than 13" rims, but all their spares are 15". Anyhow, thats what I hear about the WRX springs. If you get wagon springs they are supposed to be even stiffer in the rear.
-
Are you in the US? Cause '91 Legacy's came with 14" rims and the SS came with 15" Alloys. And no, the SVX's suspension is different. I believe if you use WRX springs you will gain some height in the rear end.

85 Brat: What's he worth?
TheSubaruJunkie replied to TheYeti's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
$1200 is a good ballpark for any dependable Brat out there. I would say advertise it for $1500 and expect $1200.
