  1. Neither. I hate traveling 50, and 88 will be closed shortly. I take 80 into reno. Jibs lives up highway 395 north of Reno (or west, northwest). -Brian
  2. Here are the coils. This is the coil for the distributor mounted module: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=ECH&PartNumber=IC24&Description=Ignition+Coil Here is the connector: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=ECH&PartNumber=ICC1&Description=Ignition+Coil+Connector They list a coil for a Fender Mounted Module: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=ECH&PartNumber=IC21&Description=Ignition+Coil However, for this application I believe you would want the distributor mounted module. Correct me if im wrong? Prices like these make it seem better to buy new (reman) than trusting a junkyard part. -Brian
  3. Bored at work, I used my Napa Prolink account to look up Distributors for the '82 Escort. They list two. One with an attatched module, and one that has a detatched module. Napa Links: Attatched Module: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=NRD&PartNumber=482493&Description=Distributor+(Electronic+w%2fo+Module)+-+Remfd Detatched Module: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=NRD&PartNumber=482492&Description=Distributor+(Electronic+w%2fo+Module)+-+Remfd Module for distributor attached model: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=MPE&PartNumber=TP30SB&Description=Ignition+Control+Module Fender Mounted Module: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=MPE&PartNumber=TP40SB&Description=Ignition+Control+Module I think i'll look up coils too. -Brian
  4. he has a point, if you dont have the car jacked up, as soon as you remove the CV you would be crushed.
  5. Should only take 20minutes to do. Set Parking Brake Remove Wheel Remove 36mm castle nut Remove Roll Pin Remove ball joint cam bolt. Pry Ball Joint from Steering Knuckle Remove tranny side of CV Beat CV from the rotor/hub assembly Replace CV Rinse & repeat. -Brian
  6. Use the tire calculator and punch in your stock tire size. Then find out what 14" tire will give you the same diameter. Then goto TireRack.com and search for tires matching that size and find one you like. Ive run tires as wide as 205 on my old Brat, they were 205/50R15. -Brian
  7. Yeah, there is no [safe] way to do it without removing the wheel and detatching the strut from the lower control arm. You could take a torch and cut the shaft (or a hacksaw but good luck with that). Then remove the tranny portion and drive the brat in 4WD (RWD). -Brian
  8. My ECU Scanner reports back intake manifold pressure, so i think there is some sort of boost sensor. -Brian
  9. Going to the junkyard this weekend scott. Im sure I can find a '82 Escort. I'll report back to you if I find something. -Brian
  10. Here Ken. These are links to my photo albums from previous WCSS's WCSS3: http://usmb.net/gallery/album116 WCSS6: http://usmb.net/gallery/album273 And here is an album full of various members photos of WCSS7: http://usmb.net/gallery/wcss7 -Brian
  11. Check ebay for a new filter kit, it will come with the clips you need and its always good to have a spare filter anyway. The adapter can be had for about $40 if i remember correctly. Search the web for weber dealers. -Brian
  12. Yeah, the 1600 was used in DL models and GL5's. Alot of 1600cc single range models existed past 1980. I believe in 1983 they did away with the 1600cc and made everything 1800cc. But single range still existed in DL models. -Brian
  13. Everything you need to know is documented there. There is also tons of conversation about the 6 lug conversion all over this forum, mostly in the off-road section. I took 6 lug rims and drilled 2 more holes in them to match the subaru 4 lug pattern. But the center hole was too small, and I had to grind away at my hubs to get things to fit propperly. I used chevy luv rims. -Brian
  14. I ran the 205's on my RX, with the front end dropped and had no rubbing problems at all. Was lookin for a pic, but I dont think i have one with the tires mounted. They were great tires, and a great price. 205/50R13 i believe is what I ran, maybe it was the 60 series, its been so long. -Brian
  15. Did the video work for you guys? Ive been having trouble all day, but that maybe cause my work block streaming media. -Brian
  16. Me and my co-worker hit up a trail we've read alot about. Its called Slickrock Road, but its no road. Its a forest route, and only about 3.5miles one way. We had a great time, did the trail in one direction, camped and came back Sunday. Im real pleased at how the Toyota handled, cant wait to do it again with lower t-case gears. Hope you have 24min to kill, here's the video link http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7096230928567802984&hl=en Pictures are as follows: Camp! What we woke up to at 8am: Great day for wheelin!! The trip was great! The drive from Sacramento is alittle long, roughly 2.5hrs each way. However, I think it was well worth it. -Brian
  17. Guess we need to spend $30 to find out about it Is that where everyones been hanging out lately? -Brian
  18. Use the same Legacy for your 5 lug swap parts and it should make things easier. -Brian
  19. Yeah a pic would be 1000 words in this case. The screw your looking for doesnt really look like a screw at all. Its not apart of the throttle body linkages like a normal idle adjust screw would be. If you look down at the intake manifold, what your looking for is a flat tip head that is threaded into the intake manifold itself (been so long, i cant remember exactly where). Anyhow, with the car running if you give it a 1/4 turn counterclockwise the engines idle speed should react immediatly. -Brian
  20. I finally got some decent tires on the Legacy. I gotta come up to see Jibs to grab some parts. But I hear he works weekends? -Brian
  21. I dont care what Wikipedia has to say about it. Im still going to refer to it as predetonation. -Brian
  22. The only thing about that buggy that isnt Subaru is the Tubing and the Wheels. I dont see why it would be moved? -Brian
  23. Yeah it worked out quite well. Turbohoses.com sells the silicone couplers, and I bought two 180 degree mandrel bent U bends in 2 3/8" inside diameter, then cut them both in half to give me four 90 degree bends. The brackets were just angle and strap I got from Home Depot. The hardest part was adapting the turbo outlet which is 1 3/4" outside diameter i believe. Sure wish the intercooler install on my Legacy was that neat and easy -Brian
