  1. Are the Fans coming on as they should? Have you checked the temp of the heater hoses? When you turn the temp to cold, you say the gauge goes back to "Normal". What happens to the temp of the upper and lower hoses before and after, when you do this. It makes little sense as you are controlling the airbox flaps, not the actual coolant flow. If you have an OBDII reader, you may want to track the coolant temp there as well.
  2. We had rabbits at work getting up on top of engines and chewing through plug wires and engine harnesses. They can do real damage quickly.
  3. Auto to Manual trans swap is 10X the work of swapping 2.5 to 2.2
  4. 1++++++ on the 2.2 swap. I've done 15+ of them and have been happy with each one. Under $500 you can find a good used 2.2. New Timing Belt and all the seals. Drop it in and drive it for another 100K+
  5. I have many sets of Red Injectors in rails. Let me know if you want some.
  6. When I search the Craigslist and put a top value of $3K, I see some listed in the 2500 - 3000 range. Local market will play a huge part!
  7. GD may have an idea. Otherwise, the next time it is hard starting. I'd stop and pull the plugs and see if one is wet with fuel.
  8. Any CEL Codes? Might have a leaking fuel injector. I can be pretty random.
  9. She plans to keep it long term. Just Dad trying to keep the value in her Subaru and pass on some knowledge. Thanks
  10. LMC Truck: 43-4760 FUEL PUMP "E" GAS F150 F250 87-89 1 $62.95
  11. Yes. In the yards about 2012 or earlier is all I see at the You Pull and Pays. I'm sure she can wait. Just trying to get her to follow through and figure out what this little damage has done to the value of her newer Subaru.
  12. Thanks. Hers still works fine. The dent is small, but caused a crease. She could drive it that way forever, but the value of her 2018 Forester went down for sure. Another reason I like my 2000 OBS.
  13. Thanks. 61K - Black is here color code. I've found them for 800 - 1200. We'll see what she wants to do.
  14. Daughter has a 2018 Forester. Last week someone rolled into her at a stoplight. Tailate got creased. Replacement will be needed. www.Car-part.com has Tailgate - Power Lift/Manual Lift. Anyone know what the physical differences are? Could I make either one work. She said her's is manual, she believes. Thanks
  15. When you pull the rears and install them you have to jack them slightly to remove the pressure on the bolt as they come out and to get it aligned to start the bottom bolt. In the yard, I'd just take a couple sections of 2x4 that I could lever into place and most yards don't let you take jacks in.
  16. Thanks. I was looking for a friend with a 2007 Forester. Should have put that in up front.
  17. Looking for a friend who has a 2007 Subaru that need rear wheel bearings, I came across the replaceable unit, 2010+ Is it possible to get a newer unit and retro fit it to an earlier Subaru? If you went to the yard and pulled a 2010+ rear hub, could it be bolted in to an earlier Subaru? Thanks, Larry
  18. Sorry, I did not see the 3.0 and was thinking 2.2 or 2.5.
  19. Oil Pump Rear Cover could be loose and it's RTV seal failed between the block and oil pump. Once you have the covers off and it all cleaned up you can put it back together with out the covers so you can run it an pin point the leak. I was think 2.2 or 2.5 motor. Sorry
  20. Wagon or Sedan? The Wagons, have the tail light access covers inside. Remove them and you will see the wires for the tail lights. Everything is on the drivers side except for the Right/Passenger side blinker. For that one you need to run a single wire to the pass side.
