There are a few spots on LB that will need the rust bullet treatment. It wont be a total waste. And I hate to say it but.......you might need it for your Imp in several years :-\

Heh, the only original black parts are the drivers front fender and the trunk lid. The car was originally Teal. The rest is rattlecan flat black. Oh, I'll touch it up, for sure I did a quick look see on it today. Found out they hacked the wiring for the tail lights. If you plug them in, the parking lights stay on

The reason the XT6 rusted out was because there were no preventative steps taken when it first started to take hold. That was long before you got it. Hard to beat back something that already had a good start. I think the coupe will be fine if it gets treated before or soon after getting to your place. I have some spray on stuff that we used underneath the semi trailers at Gordon trucking. Its awesome stuff and never hardens. I will see if I can get more, but I have 2 cans right now. I know how bad you want to show him off at Carlisle

But once the whine starts, its only a matter of time. I would start looking for another tranny now, that way you will be ready.

But I'm sure I will be getting a complete interior from a donor Imp. Lights, bumpers and go thru the mechanicals and it should be ready to RallyX. But it will have to pass State emissions first

The EA82T is a closed system. It stays pressurized while running. The reason you are getting blowby coming up the filler tube is because the PCV system is plugged. Replace the PCV with OEM and check all the hoses. Most, if not all, will be hard as a rock from the heat. So alot of them will crack or be cracked already. They have a tendecy of filling with oil and sludge and restrict the flow of gases thru the system, hence the reason your pushing stuff out where it shouldnt. I would also check the EGR while your at it, if it has one. Should have read all the C/N's Definatly check the compression. That many miles on a EA82T I would suspect the rings and valve seals are going.

You havent seen everything yet. Wait till I post pics of whats left of the interior The 95/96 Imps are the perfect platforms for RallyX. Lighter than the rest of the line, and if you happen to get a 96 Brighton its the lightest. Mine does have A/C but roll up windows. Might be removing the A/C, for sure if its not functional. Plus theres a ton of parts that interchange and aftermarket stuff is available.

The 4spd D/R is going to be a 3.9, so if you take a LSD(which almost all are 3.7) and convert it to 3.9 you will be good to go. The setup you have right now, the AT is a 3.7 and with a 3.9 rear diff is wrong and probably why you are having problems.

Going back to stock. Those things are fugly :-\ It also has the blacked out Altezza rears. Going to chuck those also. I might keep the grill :-p

Easily fixed with a Walbro 225 pump and a AFPR.
