Mazda wheels with 4x140 (or 4x139.7)?
Turbone replied to Phizinza's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The Mazda trucks here (b2000/2200/2600) are 6 lug/14in and will fit just lke a Chevy 6 lug/15in. I have a set of 14in steelies, but have never used them. Yet. -
Not OT. Should go to Meet n Greet.

Is the the right weber carb for my 84 wagon?
Turbone replied to suburpy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, that will work. Altho you will have to remove most of your emissions stuff to make things work right. Do you have inspections for emissions? -
I drive mine on the road with one axle removed. It can get a little squirrly sometimes, like when shifting but you adapt.

I might have it on a parts car I have. PM for details.

Oh, you dont have any idea:-\ -
Thats a nice clean setup. I just dont think its a good idea to have liquids above my headunit. I only did it on the wagon because its the stock unit with the cassette player.

This is what I've got in my rigs. The top is one is a little bit of a pia trying to adjust the volume of the radio, but if the passenger wants a cupholder, thats what they get.

Ew, not good:eek: It would take alot of work to fix that, is there more? Of course, being in the PNW, I would strip the car and it would be headed for the crusher.

I had a pair of Leg struts on the front of my 6 before I got the FWD ones. Theres no drilling involved. You need to spred the bottom mount some to get the strut to fit in there and maybe massage the 3 bolts on top to fit in the holes but thats it. I tried to get my air susp working when I first got it, it had leaks every where. I bypassed the computer, tank, everything by hooking up a shraeder valve to the existing lines. It would have worked but the 2 front valves kept leaking. I finally gave up and swapped to standard struts. When the system works right, the ride is awesome.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/66846/gas_saving_tips_common_fallacies.html The pickup truck and the tailgate False: Driving with the tailgate down will make your pickup truck more aerodynamic and improve your gas mileage. The position of the tailgate has a nominal effect on a truck’s gas mileage. Pickup trucks are designed to be their most aerodynamic with the tailgate up and locked. This topic created a storm on the NPR show, Car Talk, eliciting wind tunnel engineers and one former General Motors president, Bob Stempel, to set the record straight. Even the Discovery Channel took on this myth on the show Mythbusters. Conclusion? Myth busted. Sorry GD, taint true.

My T-Coupe got a little better than that, but not much. The trick is to not cruise at 70mph+.

I have the winch (Warn 6000), but the bumper needs modified to get in place.

Won't start when cold, works fine when hot
Turbone replied to CornerHard's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
That was going to be my next recommendation. Has it had a recent tune up? Check the coil wire and see if theres any corrosion on the disty cap, check inside the cap also. -

It sounds like the choke isnt working properly. What year is the car? Or do you know what carb is on it? Have you changed the fuel filter? -
Should I do a write up and post it on AUSubaru? Or would it even matter? My rig is actually just over the legal limit for being streetable. Not due to design flaws but to aggressive engineering. I've been lucky, driving it all over the NW and not getting stopped. I know someday I will tho.

Front diff interchangeability: The true answer
Turbone replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I was talking rear only. How much does it cost to weld a rear diff compared to buying a rear LSD?
