Subaru SVX: Opinions, problems
Turbone replied to IIIbarcodeIII's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXhttp://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=2 You will probably get some advice here from some owners (me included), but the link to the site above is ALL SVX. Will have a better idea of what you are getting into there from a much larger knowledge base. The biggest problem that the early ones had is the 4EAT transmission. If you are sure that its been gone thru or replaced and that the rest of the car looks to be in fair shape, I say get it.

Heh, from that pic it doesnt look to be a very smooth ride either :-p

Legacy Hi/Lo gearbox shipping costs
It might be cheaper in the long run, for one of us to make a run to LA and bring these back up. Or even meet another member half way. I wonder if I could fit 10 transmissions in a Brat?

strut bushing part numbers
Ah shoot Gary, I've been rather busy lately and forgot to see if I had those :-\ Sorry about that.

I dont know why they added that tee with the kit, unless its supposed to have the boost gauge connected to it. But I dont understand why the ball&spring for it.

You might end up overboosting. Then you can kiss that EA82T byebye. Ask me how I know Actually, if you have a boost gauge, try it without the TEE completely. If you dont get boost creep, it might be ok without it. But I would use any MBC without keeping a sharp eye on the gauge.

280 ZX T injectors in EA82T's ?
Are you sure they were from a 300ZX? Because thats a V6 with dual feed injectors, which would take alot of modding to make work. I have a set of these....90-93 Mitsubishi Eclipse Fuel Injectors #INP-059 DOHC Pretty much a direct swap and they are 250cc

Fuel Pump Problems
Gotta love that PNW patina I would say that wagon definitely has more than the standard amount tho.
-
fuel pressure mod
Did you completely pinch it off, or just somewhat? How do you fine tune something like that?

starfire 46/50-3 door coupe?
Someone a couple of months ago found one in a wrecking yard. I dont believe there is anything special about it, probably just something a dealership did. Found the pics...

Project EJ22 Hatch continues
Got to see this in person today. Lets just say, when this comes to the Show next year (it better), its going to blow lots of people away. I'm really impressed

WCSS11 first pics
Jail? Thats the only excuse I can think of for missing it

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
I havent done much since WCSS11, kind of burned out. But my hood scoop on the RX needed attention, it decided to split in half :-\

EA82 wagon body structure
The front end of the frame rails where they come up into the engine bay. The top of the rear strut mounts, they like to rust out. Of course, most of the body panel edges will rust out. Try turning the driveshaft 180deg, the reattach.

Would you buy a running driving SVX for $800?
Turbone replied to 2.5GL's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou need to be a certain breed (of crazy) to mess with XT/XT6's AND SVXi. I fit that bill rather well Oh, if you decide to part it out, dont go to subaru-svx.net and mention that. Just say you have some parts from a wrecked SVX, they wont lynch you then :-p

Subaru Having Problems, Need Help
I assume this is a 3AT? Is so, its most likely the governor. Its the large cylinder on the passenger side of the tranny(you can see it from above). Pull this cap off and you will find the gov. I think its just a couple of bolts to remove, then it pulls out. If the gear at the end looks apple cored, then thats the problem. Its not hard to find another one in the wrecking yards, someone here might even have one. Finally found the link. http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/USRM/Transmission/Governor/ATgovenorclean.htm

Backwoodsboy's ROUGH-TERRAIN engine hoist
Thats a rough estimate. It actually feels like 700lbs :-\ I have moved it on the ground by hand, just to get it close enough to the hoist. Its a good thing I'm built like a tank
-
Backwoodsboy's ROUGH-TERRAIN engine hoist
Well, its a excellent idea. I might just rig something up like that for my Hatch. I had to move a EG33 from the back of my yard the other day and without a concrete driveway it was no fun pushing a engine hoist around with 500lbs swinging from it :-\

Turbone replied to 2.5GL's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX$800 for a yard ornament? I only paid $400 for mine

Backwoodsboy's ROUGH-TERRAIN engine hoist

Where did you find all that snow in Cali? I've never heard of Rough and Ready. I'm a former resident of the San Bernadino Mts. Lk Arrowhead/Big Bear.
