Dont tell that to the guys that are racing them!
-
How old are the tophats? Might want to check the engine mounts also.

Was that one of the ones that Huck made? I still have one, but it hasnt been "fixed" yet. N/M, I just read your post over on the XT board. All the EA hitches I've seen dont bolt to the frame rails. They go thru the storage pan and bumper.

Call these guys, they are close to you. http://www.smart-service.com/index.html

Looks nice. And it looks like I'm not the only one with headlight covers now.

HP Rally X guys are building their rigs for next years season. And are you willing to drive to Hillsboro, OR to Rally X? Thats where most of them are held thru the Oregon Rally Group. And to answer your question before you ask..... There are only a couple of events held in WA every year. There might be more next year, but its not known yet.
-
Good luck
-
No, they are not one and the same. The HP came about many years ago, there were 3 original members. The HP has some active members still (me) but for the most part, the NW Off Road group are more active. And they came about less than 5yrs ago. They are also based further up North and the HP is more Central/South Puget Sound.

Which ones? I belong to several also. Nasioc SubaruXT.com Subaru-SVX.net RS25.com LegacyCentral.org SubieClub.net JapaneseNostalgicCar.com SubaruReview.com IWSTI.com Mysubaruclub.com PNW4wda.org Pirate4x4.com NW-Wheelers.com My S/N is the same on all of them. Dont think I've seen any mention of a new Subaru group in the PNW in any of those

Thinking about upping the boost on an EA82T
Turbone replied to jg09's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If I drove it conservatively (which I dont), at the boost I'm running now, it should run till 100K. -

If you consider the 20-30hp drivetrain loss of my 137hp at the wheels, then I am putting out 150-160bhp. But I wont and dont run at 12psi all day, its set at 9-10psi right now. And my engine isnt tired (getting there) and I've had a few years of tweaking these worthless lumps. -

Thanks Mick, you saved me a lot of time http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=88249 If you up the boost on the stock EA82T, you will be replacing it in short order. -

Auto X/Rally X is 20% car, 10% luck and 70% driver skill -
http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=2 You will probably get some advice here from some owners (me included), but the link to the site above is ALL SVX. Will have a better idea of what you are getting into there from a much larger knowledge base. The biggest problem that the early ones had is the 4EAT transmission. If you are sure that its been gone thru or replaced and that the rest of the car looks to be in fair shape, I say get it.

Heh, from that pic it doesnt look to be a very smooth ride either :-p
-
It might be cheaper in the long run, for one of us to make a run to LA and bring these back up. Or even meet another member half way. I wonder if I could fit 10 transmissions in a Brat?
