i'm gonna change the gear oil on my buddies legacy it's a awd 5spd gen 1, how much oil do i need what is the best weight to use, brand wise i'm using redline

what else for the ea to ej swap....
all the ej 5spds are the samew as the 80's trannies, the six speed is a whole different animal way more durable and nearly impossable to destroy from what i've heard, whereas the 5spds are thought to have a glass jaw by most wrx owners, just my two cents

watercooled turbo vs. no water? (1984 EA81T)
synthetic oil won't help thats a myth, it won't hurt the turbo much, but i will severly decrease it's lifespan, i strongly reccomendrunning the coolant lines asap but it wont hurt it to do a little driving, but be careful as the turbo will be very prone to overheating,not the engine just the turbo, which will cause the oil in it to burn up and fry the bearings, and leave sludge in the turbo if it was my car i wouldn't do it unless i had to as a last resort. edit: no an intercooler will only help the engine keep cool not the turbo
