Talk me into saving my old GL-10
I'd keep it, but I like these cars. I have a twin (except it's silver) that I put an early EJ22 in eighty thousand miles ago and I have no complaints. I don't mean to pile on with the EJ thing but I bought my car with a bad engine and I happened to have the EJ looking for a home so I have no EA82T experience. There have been some threads regarding interior whiff, ozone generators came up and some other solutions. Anyway, if it were me I wouldn't bail on it.

The End of NW Washington offroad?
I tried to PM you and got an error message. Do you have the same number you used to have? If so, you have a voicemail.

The End of NW Washington offroad?
Try not to let it get you down. Keep up the good work and things will look up. (coming from the guy that still has a disassembled hatch.) Give me a call when you get a chance. Abe

CLUTCH ISSUES
Short answer is no. FWD clutch is 200mm in diameter with a 7/8" diameter 21 spline center on the disc. The 4WD clutch is 225mm in diameter with a 1" diameter 24 spline center. With that, the search function of the board is a wonderful asset... use it.

What is this little capacitor looking thing?
Possibly yours failed by shorting the capacitor to ground when it would be more common to fail open which would act the same as not having one. Just a thought.

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)

need opinions on power steering.
The guy that drives Butters with manual steering has arms that are bigger than my legs though. That may make a difference.

Dowside to drilling the hubs
It wouldn't. Stripping the splines would be due to a loose axle nut that was possibly caused by incorrect assembly of the washers or else the nut wasn't tightened sufficiently when it was installed. The redrilling wouldn't be the cause.

Brat build, have some questions on EA82 front suspension
I just installed an EA82 power rack in an EA81 manual crossmember with very little modifying. A little trimming where the lines came out by the shaft headed to the steering column and a slight amount of slotting on the clamp brackets that hold the rack in. Am I missing something? I realize you were talking the opposite combination but it would seem that it wouldn't be too much different going the other way.

EA81 vs EA82 struts
Does this mean that the EA81 car that I have been using EA82 knuckles on for that last few years is something I should be concerned about? The difference that I found was the angle where the strut attached (affected the camber) and the inner seal diameter on the axle.

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I meant going for example from 4th to 3rd or 2nd rather than shifting up. What rpm's are you seeing when it is surging?

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Is it smooth if you drop down a gear or two and give it a few rpm's?

replacing gauges
I've got factory manuals (as I'm pretty sure Turbone does as well) I could do some scanning if you want. Or maybe Alldata from a library would have what you need.
