  1. Here you can see the Seat Support and its Broken Area; Notice that the Gasoline & Brake Lines goes above of it, inside the Car: I obtained a Thick, 3/16" Hardened Sheet Metal, and made a couple of 90º angled Reinforcements for both sides:
  2. To find the Broken Seat Support, First you need to Remove the Seat: Remove the Plastic Fasteners that holds the Carpet in Place, to Remove the Carpet: In the Photo Above you can see the infamous A/C Duct going Thru the Support, Here is Said Duct, already Removed from the Car, it is a two-Pieces Plastic Duct:
  3. This writeup is for the Third Gen Subaru Leone, a.k.a: "Loyale" or "EA82" etc, but the ideas given here might work, with some changes, to other vehicles as well. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Have you ever felt the Seat on your Subie like a Rocking Chair? The Subaru EA82 GL has a Complicated Air Conditioner Distribution Design, which includes a couple of Ducts under the Front Seats, one ends there to deliver Air to the Rear Passenger's Feet, and the other Duct delivers Air to the Rear Doors' Windows; this last Duct, passes through one of the Front seat supports, weakening its structure somehow. The Weakest Front Seat Support, is the one located at the Rear of them, next to the point where the Seat Belt Anchors; there is the A/C Duct passing in the middle of said Support. I've seen some local Subies with those Supports Broken, especially the Driver's side one, and the owners didn't knew the reason why their Driver's side seat was loose and / or way too much reclined to the Back... (when said support is not only Broken, but also Deformed for using it like that) ...I Bet that many Subie owners could have same issue on their cars, without even knowing, nor completely noticing it. So, that support on the Driver's Side in my Subaru "BumbleBeast" has broken for the Second Time... I Know: I am a Big Guy, 6' tall and over 110 Kg driving an Old Subie Wagon with Hardened "Reinforced" suspension, so the autogenous welding I did a couple of years ago to simply put that broken support together, will never last too much... so this was the Perfect Time to Reinforce that Seat Support and permanently getting Rid from that problem.
  4. I've been using them since year 1999 without any problem nor loose boots, but you have to tighten 'em strong enough to held the grease in place; the main advantages are easy to use and no razor edges against the soft Rubber, but avoid using "industrial Strength" ones, they might be too hard for the application, just use Good Quality ones. More information & photos, here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/114267-advice-for-longer-cv-joints-life/ Kind Regards.
  5. This setup seems to be Wrong to me, because the Oil Filler tube is on the Passenger's side ® which is the side that breathes fresh air and is the opposite side to where you connected your Oil Catch Can's other end; so it ends to be like connecting both sides together. Think carefully about it. Kind Regards.
  6. Well, despite that during all the past year I did absolutely... ...Nothing to my Subaru "BumbleBeast" ... Except Drive it and its regular fluid Changes, This past weekend I had to change a torn inner axle Boot, using Zip Ties as always: Kind Regards.
  7. Beyond Awesome designing Job done here, I really like it! Remember, not only Subaru could done this; Subaru let in the past, two aftermarket companies to "Transform" their EA81 Coupe onto Convertibles, which were sold new at certain Subaru Dealers in USA; also other two companies (One in USA and another in Japan) Made -Few- Subaru Alcyone XT6 Convertibles. About UTE (Pick Up) Transformation, I've seen Foresters... ...and even Imprezas... ...transformed onto Utes (Pick Ups) by other companies, so, this XV-UTE might happen with the help of another Company doing the Transformations... and selling the Removed parts: It worked in the Past. You might start to convince a Company if you start a Market Research, and bring your own modified "Real Life" XV-UTE to show 'em it is Possible, and the Results are a Unique, Useful & Beautiful Car, but you'll need to buy an XV and Modify it... Other Members here, at USMB, have done Awesome Modifying jobs, as inspirational example, let me Share this Photo of a Third Gen Subaru Leone-UTE you might like, the "Bratified Loyale" (You might say "Brumbified") : Kind Regards.
  8. So, you did everything, except the Strut Blocks, and the Rear Diff Plate, isn't it? Awesome!!! About the steering shaft, I removed it from the car, cutted it and lengthened it welding extra material between the cutted edges, it is not "Rocket Science" but you must take the proper measurements before welding it back together. Also, if you still has the Mechanical fan attached to the Waterpump, remove the Frame around it, from the Radiator, before droppin' the Crossmember, or the fan blades will hit it... Kind Regards.
  9. That was a very fat side crash, which other cars couldn't handle as good as that Legacy for sure. By the way, In my crazy country, that legacy could be still repairable & driveable legally. Kind Regards.
  10. Seems like I'm lost on Translation once again ... ... What is an HHO? Something that adds so much advantages as you described, and still being Simple, Should be beyond Awesome... Kind Regards.
  11. Welcome! Yes, we Love Photos here, so I Kindly suggest you to start your own car's thread, at the "Member's Rides" section. Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  12. The factory Carburated EJ engines are Awesome! ... The LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) received EJ15 and EJ16 carburated on first gen impreza, also EJ18 and EJ20 Carburated on First gen Legacy; here is a Video of a Local (Honduras = LADM Specs) Dual Range carburated EJ20 Legacy I was about to buy, years ago: People in USA never received Carburated EJ engines, nor Dual Range EJ transmissions, as they weren't available for USDM only... I know many USMB members will pay to receive the intake manifolds & Distribuitors from carburated EJ's in USA, but despite that the Distribuitors could work, the intake manifolds looks different from their EFi Counterparts... There are two different distribuitors for EJ's, one is for the smaller displacement ones (impreza), and the other for the Larger ones (Legacy), I have the part numbers if you need them... Kind Regards.
  13. Awesome!!! I run my Subaru "BumbleBeast" like that since many years ago, no more saggy rear but the ride becomes hard... until you drop some load on the back. Remember, as I wrote on my writeup, the Honda's coil springs will Lift the rear of the Subie ~ 2" and could stress the rear axles if you don't drop the differential. Kind Regards.
  14. AWESOME!!! I'm so glad to read that, Keep us Updated, please. Kind Regards.
  15. Also I never heard about a Beepin' ECU, especially on a Loyale ... ... The description of the issue really fits the Sony Xplod car stereo's behaviour, as pointed by Gloyale; it is a reminder of leaving their detachable face on; so I must ask, have you changed the stereo lately? Kind Regards.
  16. OK, got it, by the way, You did an awesome work. Kind Regards.
  17. I'm glad to know that you solved your posting problems. That is Beyond Awesome! Kind Regards.
  18. That Green Subie looks Awesome, Congrats! I was about to ask the same about the speed limit... Here in Honduras, we have a country wide, speed limit of 80 KPH, Equals to ~ 50 MPH. Kind Regards.
  19. To adapt a Disty + Carb on a Subaru EJ engine that originally came EFi is not easy at all. Beside yours, I've seen such setups done in USA by Jerry (Bratsrus) and Scott (Scott in Bellingham). It is a shame that the Laws in USA about pollution, forced subaru to quit selling Carburated engines in USA too early... the LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) specs, and other worldwide markets received factory Carburated + Disty EJ engines on Legacies (EJ18 and EJ20) up to 1994, and imprezas (EJ15 & EJ16), this is a short video of a factory dual range Legacy that I was about to buy, where you can see the factory Carb'd + Disty EJ20, running: The Thread with Subaru's part numbers for the two different EJ Distribuitors, details, photos and links to the Cab'd + Disty EJ FSM, is here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/98480-need-advice-legacy-wagon/ Maybe you find helpful info there. Kind Regards.
  20. My "BumbleBeast" does activate all car alarms around, but with the Weber on Full Throttle! Not with the Exhaust ... ... Kind Regards.
  21. Glad to know that changin' butterflies fixed it! Kind Regards.
  22. The Hunt has begun ... ... I kindly suggest you to upload Photos here of the New one! Kind Regards.
  23. So sad for your car loss, but glad that your son is alright. Time to search for a Newer subaru, perhaps? Kind Regards.
  24. Yes, it seems to have pretty much useful stuff... Not all the people appreciate the real value of things, especially when they didn't worked to obtain the money to buy them. Kind Regards.
