  2. Makes sense! I bet a cordless impact driver would work as well. I know for a fact that works on other smaller rusted screws and bolts
  3. Not really all that true. I would agree with the WRX's an what not. but most Forester XT's are NOT modded, and they are MUCH more reliable and MUCH LESS prone to things failing than other models because they aren't driven the same and modded like other models. The XT's are more reliable than most N/A Foresters because the turbos don't have the 2.5 head gaskets issues, and the drivetrain is VERY tough. Chris, you should know all of this!!
  4. My Forester XT does great with long drives!! I have done a few 800 mile trips with it, and it's been very comfortable!! And decent gas mileage too
  5. Lol, yup Portland Maine. Turbone should know, I actually met him the last time he was here!! But believe me, I would love to come to WCSS, I always see the pics, and would love to see all the cars in person
  6. The best way to get some rumble would be to have an unequal length header built for your car. And then to have a factory WRX cat back modified to fit. That should give it some more of the sound you're looking for
  7. Wow, you have done some moving!! I'm from Maine, and live about 45 minutes north of Portland. Nice Brat!! Lets see some under hood pics of the EA82 stuffed in there!!
  8. I have a brand new EA82 y pipe. The whole thing with the cat. Shipping would be fun, but I would take 50 for them
  9. Thanks man, I should update the thread on here with newer pics and mod list
  10. It's built to take it. And ya, you guys are cheap skates!! He will never get out of it what he has in it, but this is a nice example of how a car should be built. All parts have been upgraded to be able to handle the power, and for a long time. Nice car!! Now that you have sold it, what's next??
  11. I have used several ebay knock sensors now without any issues. They seem to last just as long as the Subaru ones. I in fact just installed one on a motor that I am dropping into my moms car.
  12. With a 17" wheel could even bolt on a 4 pot front caliper from an 06-07 WRX....you know, the fancy red ones. They work awesome, and will bolt right on the Legacy hubs.
  13. First of all, check out this site http://www.subaruforester.org The best way to lower the suspension is to get some 04-07 WRX struts, and a set of 04-07 STi springs. Pretty much anything that works for an STi, will fit on your Forester. And this is my mod list for my 04 Forester XT, which is nearly identical to the 05. 14. I believe Loyale, considering them have to fit in the Loyale hubs, but have the right splines to fit the Legacy tranny
  15. What driveshaft did you use for this?
  16. Ummmm, hard to understand either of the above posts, but....... The Brat never came with rear discs from the factory, they would have been swapped on later from a turbo GL of some sort. I believe that is the answer you are looking for.
  17. I know a few people running grabbers. I have a set on my G/F's car that work great and wear good, and my step dad has had a couple sets on his HD 3/4 ton pickup and loves them. They wear really well, even on a heavy truck, and he loves the all around great traction they have too. He also plows with them.
  18. Yes, as Durania said, that will work, and I am running an Accessport and like it. So if you add a good quality air filter to that, you can tune yourself to stage 2!
  19. Like Milesfox said, it will only cause issues if you beat the crap out of it and don't take care of it. You can get a catless down pipe for under 200, but if you want a catless one, it will be 300-500. Cat back can be found for cheap, even a lot of the ebay ones are fine, and work and last without issues. A better quality one will cost you 300ish. And then a Cobb Accessport will be around 500, OR a custom tune from a local tuning facility will be around 300-500 usually. I should add that with these things added, you will see a VERY noticeable boost in power!!
  20. You only really need a down pipe and a good panel filter to go stage 2 power wise. But yes, a turbo back would make it breathe even better. An Accessport will not void the warranty unless the dealership knows about it, and they will only know about it if you tell them/leave the Accessport out on the open and they see it. The factory Subaru tune for turbo cars really sucks, going stage 1 or stage 2 will actually improve the way the car runs, and drives.
  21. Get a down pipe for the turbo, a decent air filter, and get a tune done to it, that will really wake it up!
  22. Impreza body kit???
  23. My Brat was far worse than that. It does not take much money at all to fix it, as long as you do it yourself. Just take your time and cut out all the rust, and replace with good sheet metal!!
  24. Great to hear you're getting it up and running and on the road again!!! Can't wait to see pics of it all assembled!!! Awesome work Connie!
  25. The pics are all still there and it looks awesome. I want another OBS bad
