  1. i have 2 of his lift kits already they are awesome.. but if a rx7 rear will hold up to a small block chevy it would hold a subie motor. the reason i say those is they are a small pumpkin, so you wouldnt lose alot of ground clearance.
  2. he should have gone with a rear axle out of an gen 1 rx7 gsl, 3.9 gears, lsd ,disc brakes, already set up of coil overs and 3 link and a 58" width. it would be a pretty straight forward swap, im pretty sure the driveshafts are the same also. when i get around to building a solid rear in a rig it will be with one of those.
  3. its probably going to be easier, but more expensive, to replace it than rebuild it. D.C subaru in wasilla has low mileage D/R's for $350. plus every other part you could ever want or need. and I do mean every single part imaginable, he has about 50 GL's.
  4. Well one of my front axles went kaput, so the wagon is now rwd. Its alot of fun,, did some doughnuts on a gravel lot. I also installed a whole new stero, new head unit, amp and sub. its a polk audio 8" sub with 400 watts. sounds really good

I dont even really consider this wheeling, its offroading but not really wheeling... i could get a stock ea82 through here if it had good snow tires
  6. exactly. plus i can climb much steeper grades and not flip backwards lol
  7. yeah ea82, carb. bone stock. its got exhaust up to where the muffler used to be... its actualy fairly quiet, the mic on that camera makes every thing seem super loud. it was fun, i went back later with a couple jeeps on 35's and they both got stuck in the first hole there i think the most impressive part is how we managed to get mud on the hatch.

For me it would be a wagon with and gen1 rx7 rear axle, tcase and toyota trans ej22t locked in the back lsd in the front beef up front suspension some 30"mud tires a winch snokel roof rack and 10grand in my pocket. It doesnt need to go everywhere but it would be a bad rump roast rig that would go anywhere i need it to. Plus it would be pretty damn quick.
  9. thank you sir, You were just the person i was hoping to hear from. I'll be re watching all your videos before i start lol
  10. thinking about doing a reseal on my 87 ea82t. aside from gaskets, water pump, and timing belts, is there anything else I'm going to need? I want to do this as fast as possible, but not rush it. I want to buy everything I will need before I start, so I can get everything done on my day or two off. pulling the engine doesn't concern me, it will take me about an hour. What I'm talking about is thread taps, helicoils, rtv, which one for which gasket? more specifically, intake mani bolt helicoils, exhaust header bolt helicoil and if anyone knows off the top of their head the thread pitch for the thermostat housing bolts so I can helicoil those also. one has already been broken drilled and a different bolt put in its place, was a temp fix that has been working well but I want to fix it correctly.
  11. Finally installed a boost gauge, running a nice 10psi, and tonight i raced a mid 90s vw jetta, AND I WON. thats 2 out of 3 races i've won. pretty proud of the subie
  12. you really gotta get us some raw footage of this thing on the road
  13. nature of the beast, open up the exhaust a little and you'll be golden. it wont make quick boost till after 3k rpm, after 3k boost will be almost instant. if the turbo is stock that is.
  14. rev it to around 4k and close the throttle and choke, it will suck the crap through the carb. it's happened to me a few times on the older carbs. some will say this is bad for it, and they would be right, but it sounds like you will be rebuilding the carb if it doesnt work so whats the harm?
  15. this old debate.. some one needs to find a factory 2wd and compare it to a 4wd. i've seen a hundred threads on this with no definitive answer... i bought 2wd rear gyb gr-2s and noticed no real difference.
  16. with those springs that motor should rev to the moon... if it all holds together i would think atleast 9k rpms
  17. I say do it! its going to be alot of work but you have all the parts. I have an 87 gl-10 turbo. and its awesome mines lifted on 28's though. fast enough to put most hondas in its place and capable enough to hang with mild jeeps
  18. I think tundrabrat's brat is that blue. sweet hatch!.. they are rare here, only seen 3 all were rust buckets...
  19. Hey great to see you're back at it! I'm working at oriellys now so if you need something let me know
  20. hmm sounds like you got it right, the suspension must not have settled in that pic
  21. it looks like the front lift blocks are backwards... it shouldnt have that much positive camber.
  22. put the worn key back in and jiggle it while turning it backwards. everything else i cant help with unfortunatey
  23. if you dont mind me asking where did you acquire those pug lug adapters?
