There's been a few guys who have done this conversion, you should be able to find everything you need to know by doing a search.

West Coast Subaru Show 7 Thread (real deal)
Well foks it looks like I will be able to make it after all. At the moment it looks like I'll be leaving from work Friday night (about 5:00) but in the process I will have to shuttle my dad up to Port Orchard. Since I'll be doing that it will be pretty late when I get there; will the gates be open and will there be anyone one to collect the campsite fee? Or could I just stop on the way, pay the fee, claim a campsite, leave my gear and get back on the road. Or could I send my site fees with someone else who's leaving early and just have them pick me out a spot?

SVX with hood scoop???
I saw one today and it was very obvious that someone added it. I know there are some turbo kits out there for the SVX but I don't know of any with an inter-cooler. Are there any, or did someone chop-up a perfectly good SVX hood and did a hack job of adding a scoop to try and look cool?

aftermarket rear shocks?
You can get KYB GR2s for all four corners but if you have 4wd you will loose the height adjustment in the front.

need opinions, logical thinking here... my trip to MSP
I would be more worried about the brakes on your Impreza then the engine. The EJ18 maybe small but it's a tough engine, spending a few miles running in 3rd gear at about 4.5K isn't going to kill it while climbing the passes. My bigger concern would be extra load on the brakes while going back down the other side of the passes.

Mystery Parts.....what are they??
#2 is the Fast Idle control device for the AC system. When the AC is on it keeps the Idle from getting too low.

Oil pump seal kit EA81 question
it's been years since I've had one apart but IIRC the big one goes between the two halves of the pump casing.

thats not right....
I messaged the guy and asked if that was the correct picture.

3 Door Coupe windshield....
the molding is probably just the plastic trim that goes around the glass

Whats the ultimate block heater system?
if it's for your 85 wagon, it screw in to the bottom of the block on the right side IIRC. The plug you take out is about 2" in diameter and take a 14mm Allen wrench.

Whats the ultimate block heater system?
Subaru sells a block heater that screw into the block and the heating element ends up being submerged in the engine coolant. It lists for roughly $30 at the dealer but if their a good dealer they'll wholesale it for around $25. Someone on the board posted on the board about getting a similar one at NAPA.

hmmm ea81 headers maybe
The SVX had the 3.3L

hmmm ea81 headers maybe
It looks like they're only building stuff for the EJ engines, but you can always call and ask if they can do something custom.

93 Legacy, wheel bearing replacement, how? quick Q!!
GLCraig replied to Ratty2Austin's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt's a bit different. You need to press the hub out of the bearing then press the bearing out of the nuckle. And I do mean press and sometimes heat.

misefire on 2cly sometimes
If it's happening to both #2 & #4 at the same time, there's a better chance the short is in the wiring or the resister pack
-
misefire on 2cly sometimes
My guess is there is a on again off again short with the #2 fuel injector.

Replacement tires
GLCraig replied to Tom Dunn's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt's recromended to replace all four and to rotate them frequently to maintain a uniform diameter.

ea71 head gasket replacement....
I'll quote the Subaru machanic I use to work with. "It can be done in the car but you don't want to."

1986 Xt Not Enough Volts To Injectors
You mentioned that you replaced the fuel pump but have you varified that you are getting fuel to the injectors?

I broke my timing belt today
Timing belts can be changed with the engine in the car. It is easier to do them with the engine out of the car but it's not worth pulling the engine if you are going to do just the timing belts. The oil pump seals, came cover gaskets and oil pan can be done with the engine still in the car. You should also consider replacing the water pump and cam seals while you're doing a timing belt replacement.
