  1. The ORG website still says it's at the fairgrounds
  2. I just pry them out with a screwdriver that what I did when I destudded the tires I use for rallyX
  3. have you checked to see if you got the timing belt off a tooth or two?
  4. yeah a legacy swaybar will fit and impreza but not the other way around
  5. they can be a pain to get in. getting all of the splines to line up can be a pain in the neck
  6. There could have been some garbage in the gas, replace the fuel filter and see if things get better.
  7. O2 sensor and ASV are pretty much a given with the carter weber, I've seen a few dozen Subaru like that. Some 2wd models even have a ASV going to the second Cat.
  8. If you look at an EA82 parts book you'll see there's about half a dozen different rear coilovers.
  9. Yes, Paul along with his parts counter staff, Rodney and Leah are really good about making an effort to help us old school folks. Best of all you don't need to give them a VIN number to look up parts, just a year and model. The management at Lithia doesn't let them stock the older parts anymore but the regional distribution warehouse is only an hours drive away, so most things can be had the next day. There have been a few things that need shipped across country for me and the fuel pump I needed had to be shipped from Japan but that they didn't complain at all about making these orders.
  10. Well are you talking about front bearings or back bearings, 2wd or 4wd?
  11. the imput shaft really has 2 bearing, one at each end. Either one could be making the noise.
  12. How are you checking the second barrel? It is opened by a vacuum diaphram unless it old enough to have a mechanical seconday.
  13. I had the same problem with my Legacy, I waited until I needed a new clutch to do anything about it. When I had the pieces out, the release bearing and pilot bearing felt fine but when I turned the input shaft bearing I could feel a bad bearing.
  14. I knew I had one in my collection somewhere http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=1774&sort=7&cat=581&page=10
  15. I'm pretty sure a 185/80/13 will fit the spare tire area and according to the Miata tire size calculator ( http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html book mark this one) is the same diameter as a 205/60/15.
  16. The way we did it at my old shop was to take a longer bolt and grind the Hex end so that it could go done the hole on the pin then hook to the back side of the pin. We would then attach the threaded end to a slide hammer and tap them out.
  17. That is how the book says to do it and that's how I've always done it. It might be possible to split the block part way then unbolt the caps from the connecting rods. The pistons should not be able to slide through the bottom of the cylinder bores.
  18. Your speedometer would be off and they may not look too good. Stock Size is 185/70/14
  19. Another option could be Megasquirt with throttle body injection
  20. Do you have the pistons out yet? There is one bolt that is hidden behind the head gasket, are you sure you have it?
  21. Were the axle nuts loose when you chaged either axle? A bad hub will cause the nuts to come loose. Also is there a build-up of rust color dust around the axle nuts now? That's an other sign of a bad hub.
  22. Used Hubs are often good, and getting one off isn't too hard.
  23. The one on the carburetor goes to the distributor advance. The one that you have connected to the advance goes to the climate control, you should find a hose that comes out of the firewall on the right side. The third one I'm not sure about. Is the carburetor the original one for the car? I know that on some of the 80 models a vacuum hose went to the back of the carburetor. Maybe the carburetor was replace and that vacuum port is no longer needed.
