I think the EG33 is just too long, if you compair the engine compartment of the XT vs XT6 you'll see how subaru had to modify the core support and few other items just the make the ER27 fit. If you really want a H6 you may want to look at the EZ30, it's not that much bigger then a EJ25.

All the warning lights---

The lights will also come on if the ground wire for the instrument cluster comes loose. You may want to check that. -

tow with 2.2???
GLCraig replied to attym's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Most Legacy trailer hitches are bolt on, mine uses the rear tow hooks and 2 holes in the unibody as bolt down points. -
Oh hearing stories like that makes me glad that the testing in Oregon is ran by the State's DEQ and they were smart enough to exclude all Subarus from a at speed test. Speaking of emission tests, my GL is due again at the begining of the year. Let's see if it will pass for the 4th time in a row on the 1st try.

Proportioning valve changes on rear disc swap?
GLCraig replied to freedster's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You know I've looked at my FSM several time, trying to locate a proportioning valve and I just can't find one. Maybe subaru didn't use a proportioning valve. Also if they did, wouldn't they need two since the brake circuit split is Front Left/Right rear and Right Front/Left Rear? -
you know Gen2s & Gen3s may use the same interlock switch since the 3speed auto is basically the same for all three gens.

Strandead Please Help!!!!
GLCraig replied to CITRUSHARK's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You know the ECU may not fire off the injector if the MAF is telling the the ECU that there is not any air going through it. Since you did the test with the air intake disconnected between the MAF and throttle body, there wouldn't be any air going through the MAF to begin with. Also have you check both Timing belts? If the one on the Drivers side is busted, the distributor will not turn and you won't get any spark. -

Try a different battery cable. -
I think you have Zap and Qman Mixed up

Your problem maybe from overtightening the 2 bolts. The Torque spec it 3 to 4 Nm (Newton Meters). Also the quality of the gasket maybe an issue. I know you said the head's surface felt clean but you realy need to give it a good visual inspection, any only and hardened cork may cause problems.

FYI Brooklyn is just the name of the unincorperated area around the tavern and Cosmopolis is just for US Postal service addresses.
