There is a special socket for doing that. -

Hey if your fuel rails continue to be a problem, you may want to make some out of extruded aluminum similar to what's on this link. http://injector.com/prorails.php Then you would just need to cut them to length, then drill and tap for the fittings. -

When you say Unplugged the EGR i'm assuming that you mean you cleaned out the EGR valve. Did you also clean out the tube as well? Also check to see if your EGR solenoid is working. -
to all brat masters?????????

Finding a matching cross member will depend on the 2wd transmission you have. If it came out of an EA81 Subaru then you just need to find a cross member form another EA81 with a 2wd automatic. If it came out of an EA82 then you would need to modify one from an EA81. This is because the tail end of an EA82 2wd auto sticks out a couple of inches farther. Technically you could combine the parts you have and build a good 4wd auto but I would not recommend it. -

you know, you could have saved yourself some grief by changing over to the front strut rear coilover suspension. -
All of the cars I own are Subarus but at some point I'll probably have to buy a fullsize truck one of these days.

It's about 26Ft*Lbf How tight that is really depends on the application and fastener.

EA82T starts and then stops immediately

Maybe a bad fuel pump relay or worse a bad ECU the fuel pump is controlled by the ECU, when you crank the engine over the ECU will run the fuel pump for a specified amount of time then it expects to receive a ignition pulse single, if it doesn’t receive the signal it stops the pump. Try back probing the relay and see if power is shutoff to the pump before or after the engine dies. -
Help! I broke my Loyale already!
GLCraig replied to Flowmastered87GL's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It's 2 screws if i remember right. But didn't you say that you drove it home. If it got you home i'm pretty sure that the dist. still turns. I'm leaning more towards a big vacuum leak my self. maybe a stuck open air control valve. -
any body seen this ground wire?
GLCraig replied to speedbump's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I took that off my server -
where was the crack?

I wouldn't expect to get that many miles out of the clutch. Are you the origional owner?
-
You should get a tire that's the same size as what you are running. Also make sure that the wheel you put it on is for an EA82 because EA81 wheels do not always clear the front brake calipers.

Often the noisy lifters are cause by a bad o-ring and seal on the oilpump. When they go bad, air gets sucked into the oil.

How much $ to rebuild 5sp MT?
GLCraig replied to jimkup's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If he dosen't know what he's doing, two at the most. A 2wd transmission dosn't have a lot of parts to take off to split the case like a 4wd dose. -

To completely reseal a 2wd transmission you would have to split the case, to get to the front seal. If he is only going to charge you and hour labor he may looses money unless he's done a few of these transmissions.. -

It's just 4 bolts to get the seat out. No other interior parts need to be removed.
