The reason for my "alias" scooner.
I cut off about a foot and welded in two 90's and filled in the void then welded it all together and started to paint it with truck bed liner but ran out. Will finish later when it's not so bitter and cold. Winter sucks.

The reason for my "alias" scooner.
Finally had a chance to work on my roof rack. It was 10 degrees bur worth it, I started with this powder coated rack I bought from a pickup topper sales place that had used it as a display rack. Bought it for $30. As you can see it was squared off on the bottom and was too long for my car.

Bought my first Subaru today!
Good to hear, 200k isn't bad at all for a subie. Before you just do the water pump replacement I might suggest not only doing that but also the timing belt and components since you have to take that all off anyways. I bought a kit like this one off of amazon for my 2.2 liter and it has been great. You definitely DO NOT want your timing belt to break as this is an interference motor and will cause serious engine damage! Just FYI here is a link to a kit that might work, I would verify though for sure. Good luck! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003TUCFT2/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1424546139&sr=8-2&keywords=2004+subaru+2.5+timing+belt+kit&dpPl=1&dpID=51De-12qGWL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SX200_QL40

Very nice! I love the solid color outbacks! Has there been any engine work done that you know of and what mileage does it have?

EA71 Water Pump Installation
Right on! That's exactly why I did that thread haha. Auto part stores don't differentiate between top mount tranny and non...and big surprise they have no idea what you are talking about when you tell them! Glad you got it going bro!

!RESCUED! 1980 Subaru Brat
Yeah, the guy who owns the brat in the field doesn't want to sell anything at all. He had another brat in a lean to barn, 3 gen 2 wagons and a parts wagon. Soon after I took these pictures all of his soobies were soon moved out of view from the road haha.

It should be noted that this car is generally a beat up clunker, hail has beat it up. The tail lights are cracked, the passenger headlight is decent, why? Because I needed a nice driver one. It is maroon in color with gray interior. I bought the car super cheap though, and to have a spare tranny is worth it to me!

Carb to SPFI conversion.
So I bought an 88' GL wagon from a guy basically for the manual seat belts to convert my auto belts in my loyale and take the 5MT DR and I was able to get it running, it runs really good surprisingly. My question to you guys who have done the SPFI swap onto the EA81, what do I need to save before I scrap this beater? Obviously the intake, ecu, maf but is there anything I might miss. Further more is anyone interested in buying a full setup? Thanks everyone!

Haha true true, and don't feel bad bro, I love the fact that you jump on posts and tell facts because you have hands on work with these things which in turn is good for everybody!

Wow, excellent info. I meant by nothing special though is they are found in outbacks and not like they are incredibly rare. The reason I asked for what vehicle to put it in is I remember soop talking about his 88 DL in a separate post and wanted to let him know the hassle of trying to put one in his car, if he was thinking of it. Glad you chimed in Gloyale, I was curious.

Honestly I think the trouble you would have to go through to make it fit wouldn't be worth it. Plus it's an OBD 2 engine, you'd have to do an ECU and Harness swap. Someone else might know on here if they are good motors or not, I think it's basically a 2.5 with an additional 2 cylinders on the back. I do know there's nothing special about them though.

1990 Subaru Loyale
Thanks! Yeah they are alot funner than the singe range that's for sure. I even replaced all of the outside trim with GL trim so it says Subaru on the back door instead of Loyale.
