  1. You need the 84 book. There are little supplement books for up to 89 around at dealers and such in their back rooms but they aren't necessary and all build off the last primary year of the ea81 series 1984. You will also want to order parts that way usually unless its a specialist or risk the same problem-lots of ea82 parts.
  2. Did your insurance company offer to help discuss it with Allstate?
  3. This guy claims having 9 available.
  4. Im certainly not outing you. You're pretty big to admit it. At the same time, just recycle it man! You don't have a shop do an alignment or something that requires expensive tools beyond the DIYer?
  5. https://www.google.com/webhp?rlz=1C1ASUM_enUS473US473&sourceid=chrome-instant&ie=UTF-8#hl=en&safe=off&rlz=1C1ASUM_enUS473US473&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=wisconsin%20coolant%20recycling&oq=&gs_l=&pbx=1&fp=4fc1c984211b8d1b&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1280&bih=939 Seem like a pretty smart guy in your posts. Why can't you just recycle it properly? You aren't "friends" with any auto shops that would let your pour yours in their waste tanks? Its interesting, in the time it took me to search for the Wisconsin results linked above it also found this very thread. Google wastes no time.
  6. I see your points. 1. I agree on first model year and Subaru makes the case even more usually. The 2008 WRX, the 2004 STI, the 1985 4wd Wagon, the 93 Impreza with the 1.8. Lots of first year tests and then the 2nd year gets redone in a way that sticks for the rest of the years of that generation. But to avoid a 1st gen BRZ seems a little crazy if you want one you better buy one before they pull the plug and don't make any beyond the 4 year mark. 2. The Turbo, or lack there of isn't the problem. Its the power. Why is it not a 2.5L. Adding a turbo would have added weight, shifted the 50/50 and messed with the whole thing. But displacement would have been easy enough. 3. I would rather see a hardtop convertible than a Turbo model. If its not too hard to do, there will be aftermarket offerings for a Turbo kit that are done well and probably for less money and less insurance rates than a factory one. 4. Subaru's are not losing 1/2 their value in that period of time but I see your point. On a new model who knows but I have seen people buying used Outbacks and Foresters that are 3-4 years old for nearly new car prices. Crazy but true. I sold my WRX for more than I paid but I got a deal as an employee at the time. YMMV and as a rule you are right on this.
  7. Its the latest version of the Miata. MX5 I think they call it. I can see the resemblance.
  8. I have a nice one here in Colorado. If you haven't settled with Insurance let me know maybe we can get them to pay my price for the car.
  9. You should be good at 12, I would go 16 degrees at 8700' but if you drop down a lot that would be better at 12. What jets are in it? You should be able to see them thru the top if I remember correctly.
  10. Or specifically to Post #2 (GD) To link to a post you click the post number once a thread is open. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=940095&postcount=2
  11. Not to pick on you but why did you mess with it if you were getting 31 MPG?!?! Wow. Anyway, what is your timing set at? Does it sputter or cough at all when you rev it? Did you set it up with the screws like the Redline docs say to do?
  12. Mazda? There is a Scion(Toyota) version and a Subaru version. The Mazda is their own car.
  13. Picture? Not sure what you are asking for. You might also post in the Historic Classifieds here too in the future. (I am going to move this post there and leave a redirect).
  14. Contact the local wastewater treatment department. Many allow it to be poured into the toilet. Be careful that you don't put it in a typical drain as many in garage floors, etc don't drain to the treatment center but straight to the local water supply thru street drain off (creek, river, ocean, etc).
  15. Is the convertible a concept only or did I miss something huge? I have only seen a hardtop so far.
  16. I have seen people get fed up with replacing spark plugs on these engines after doing half of them and quit. Could have original plugs one side and new the other.
  17. Aren't those Yellow lenses in the bag?
  18. Same here, never found it. Just checked again too. Its not much. I have a cheap source of new flywheels too if it comes to that.
  19. Why not? I owned a 2009 WRX while owning an 83 Wagon and an 84 Brat.
  20. They will-but you better not want Power steering, etc. Gets crowded around the front where the thermostat housing is. I would stick with the ea81 for its simpler adapter too. Both available thru the shop-link below.
  21. How many do you want I will put them on Ebay. Otherwise just order from me if you wish. The cone is 623024020 and the washer between it and the castle nut is 623204080. 623024020 is $8.16 and the other is $8.88. I can ship used ones that are good as well. $2/ea
  22. Post #4 (On page 1 of this very thread) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=823173&postcount=4
  23. We might convince the glass guy to make a field trip?
  24. I can ship this if you need. I wouldnt even try JB Welding it. How fast do you need it?
