  2. Shawn i will share with you too. Turns out this part is ported. I can make it work but wont look pretty.
  3. Whats your email it is easier for me to do it via my BB
  4. http://www.bluegauges.com/prod_yellow_box.htm http://www.speedometermaster.com/ http://www.fmdkinc.com/wiz.htm
  5. Pressure plate can be glazed. The pressure plate can have weakened springs. The disc can be glazed. Do not forget to get new clips for the TO bearing.
  6. 1989 Justy On the passenger side of the carb is a port with a long hex fitting. It has a vacume line coming off it. There is another vacume line that is smaller right next to it. I did not know that was leading into the fitting with the hex. i tought i would unscrew that port to get to the other vac line. I snapped the port. The carb is gong to a rebuilder and may be able to be braised back on I have no idea. Anyone have this part of the Justy people?
  7. usually there is a black box that is used to correct it, but usually it is just easier to get a GPS, check the 30, 45, 55, 65, 75 numbers and just put it in your memory. It will be even all across the board, but just nice to make sure.
  8. I have no idea why you think it is under the hood or why you are going to remove the shifter. On no subaru is it under the hood. It is a short cable UNDER the car between the tranny and the shifter. It is serviced UNDER the car. I would just get it up on jackstands with the stands on thick and long planks, or get some freinds together and push. I have a dirt driveway I have done both when I have had to, and no garage.
  9. I'm planning on still being on the planet for a while, so just add to the post and i will perk up.
  10. Cable is very obvious as to what it looks like. Do you want to get it to A garage or inside your garage?
  11. Thats with everything on and reving at 1800 rpm. If it is low, then shut everything off except for lights and wipers. That may get you to bordeline or just a hair below then you can make it home. Stick to well travled roads just in case.
  12. Slight fuel line leak, but it would start by looking at the charcoal canister, purge valave, evap system.
  13. You did not have to drop the pan, sometimes that just makes things worse. This may have nothing to do with it, but put the FWD fuse in and report back.
  14. It is from trying to keep thngs as light as possible for better throttle response. Also subaru has a very small space to put a clutch (and beefier)transmission into. Subaru is unique in its layout, where as other companies have some room to play with.
  15. They are having teething pains with the clutches and are working on a CVT that can handle the power.
  16. Respond to this fro me so i get emailed on it, but it is late, my brain is fried, lets pick this up tomorrow
  17. Start with flusshing the fluid. FLushing forgives all sins in a sooby. How many miles again?
  18. DO the manual shift thing and drive past the RPM where the problem occures. Shift below it, at it, and above it and let me know what happens. How long has the car been doing this?
  19. Any CEL? Recent Maint history on the car? Does the car push through the shudder or does it affect performance? Any flashing lights on startup? Does it happen at a shift-point? WHat happenes if you manually shift the car?
  20. i actually use it around town too. Stick is easy. As long as you can drive a stick, you can always drive out of town when the Zombies are woken up the fallout from the nuclear war.
  21. Ah yes grasshopper, i too. But then having a L4-5 disc fused together with nerve damage has changed what i like and what i need. i would kill to be able to drive a stick again too. i can't drive far without cruise anymore.
  22. I wasnt planning on roadtripping it as it has no cruise, but I am starting to think about it.
  23. The easy way is to pull it through the firewall (I used the gas pedal cable hole). Run it under the dash, then behind the kick panel. I think i removed the panel to get the wire through. I then laid the wire out from the kick panel to the rear of the car. GENTLY push it up under the trim panels all the way up to the back seat. Run the wire under the back seat. depending upon the year the floor in the rear floats above the metal floor. Run the wire under that floor to whereever you want it to go. I have done this for 4 wires with no issues.
  24. I think i may be in trouble The punch list is much shorter and may require a call to my Insurance company soon. I flushed the cooling system (1 gallon) Flushed the CVT Tranny (4 qts Mobil one). Backed the Justy out of the driveway to do the coolant, yes i am evil and dumped the coolant all over the road. IN the process of backing it out, the Justy took off like a bat out of hell. On a justy CVT the CVT operates Forwards AND in reverse. That was too much fun. The car drives like it is on rails. this does not bode well for my insurance rates.
