how do i lock the hatch
Yeah, you'll want to turn the key 45 degree's clockwise to lock the hatch. And to unlock it just turn it back until the key is vertical. You should be able to remove the key once its been turned clockwise to keep the hatch locked. -Brian

R15 tire advice...
I wanna get some nice tires in R15 size. They'll be mounted to 15" Pug Alloys for street use. I'll be using them on a EA82, so Im not sure what is the apropriate size for best performance. They'll be primarily for street use but I want to avoid any rubbing issues. Also, money is always a concern. Does anyone have any recommendations for a well ballanced tire on the cheap? -Brian

Doyle grade sounds good too. Never been there, but isnt that where you guys were off-roading? Ive invited a few other turbo legacy's along. And might even have an Impreza or two following. -Brian

Any tips on removing the front bumper cover off of a EA81 Brat and reinstalling?
There are 4 14mm bolts that hold the bumper to the frame, and then there are some small 10mm bolts on either side of the fenders to hold the bumper ends onto the fender. Not long at all to remove. If your bolts arent rusted it shouldnt take longer than 20min to remove the bumper. Although most the bumpers ive removed ive ended up fighting with the bolts for an hour or so. Those bolts see the worse amount of weather, and are usually stuck. -Brian

Its not going to be a wheelin trip. It will be a road trip. The majority of us will most likely be in Legacy's and street rigs. I just wanna get a chance to drive in some snow -Brian

Lake Tahoe Snow Run.
Dave, we need to take a pre-lim trip to see if silverfork is accessable. Last time I tried to get up there in the winter the main road was closed, but I was thinking of gaining access from the tract further up 50. It will most likely be a sunday becuase sunday's work best for me, and probably everyone else. -Brian

Ah, the car that started my obsession

Any idea which yr/model this soob is? (pic)
The car your mother is leaning against is a EA81 Wagon, between the years 1981-1984. You can tell because there is a door seam right infront of the rear wheel arch. A hatchback wouldnt have a door right there. -Brian

is there anyway i could make or find a cold air intake for an 86 gl hatch??
Your looking at around $250 for a custom exhaust. If you want a custom Y pipe with that exhaust add another $75-$100 to the job. If you find a local muffler shop, most can give you quotes. There's a how-to somewhere out there on making an adapter for a cone airfilter. I'll have to try to find it. -Brian

Launching an RXTurbo
I cant get a good launch in my Legacy without slipping the clutch alittle. The EJ22T is nothing like the EA82T so I dunno exactly how to launch a RX. But with the Legacy I like to get the engine up to where it should produce most its power (i guess 2500-3500) and then start to let off the clutch. Once the clutch grabs enough to move the car, i then romp on the gas and let off the clutch at the same time. Usually the clutch is fully dissengaged while the engine is accelerating back to its 3000-3500 range and im ready to try 2nd at about 6k. Thats where my problem runs... it usually takes me too long to shift into 2nd and my competition is ahead of me. Although I dont ever drag race (no... really) i do like to get off the line in a timely manner And my car just sounds so good accelerating its something i feel obliged to do. -Brian

dumb 4wd question
Use your pushbutton on loose grade. And use it at any speed you'd like Ive cruised freeway speeds in 4WD in Alaska. -Brian

only serious replies please
Thats wierd, ive heard 2 people now complain about this. Its very un-tony-like. Maybe Adam NDJ can stop by his house or something. I know he's local to Tony. I havent tried calling, but I have his cell. If nothing becomes of this I will call him and try to get status. -Brian

EA82T Exhaust questions
Didnt think so. Not sure if the bends would be the same or not, maybe i'll just have to lay them next to eachother and try it for myself. -Brian

EA82T Exhaust questions
Yeah WJM, everything but the cross over pipe. I was thinking of using the turbo to so that I can use the downpipe. The exhaust is custom. I think its cat-back so maybe I dont need to use the downpipe. -Brian

EA82T Exhaust questions
Anyone here know if I'd have any chance of using a custom exhaust from a '92 Legacy Turbo on a RX's EA82T? Was just thinking about something. -Brian
