  1. There might be a correlation, but it'd be hard to tell unless you could see specifically where the oil leak was coming from. By the time it's under the car and everything is slimey, it'd be hard to say.
  2. I don't think it's rated to carry combustibles. However I will most likely be putting aerosols in it. I thought about doing that, but there are predefined spots for the shelves, and where I would for one to go, there's no slot for it to go....I'll probably look for a shelve of some kind with legs I can stick in there

  4. The car has just grown into a pig. The styling is bland....knock off of most other cars out there. I'm just not a fan of the little things they've changed. I've always been a legacy fan over the impreza, but I feel that tide has changed. I prefer the styling of the new impreza over the legacy....
  5. Are you experiencing any specific symptoms of the car not running properly? Or does it just feel different? If so, how long has it been doing this?
  6. Try inserting a fuse in the FWD fuse holder. This will temporarily disable the AWD. If the noise is unchanged, the problem is probably a wheel bearing.
  7. They would probably work, however I'd suggest being cautious about using struts from vehicles that old. They are probably not great.
  8. I'm not sure if you're going to find much info on here, as the US didn't get the 1.5 liter model either. You may want to try a Subaru board in Europe/UK. Other suggestion would be to find specs from newer subarus without hydraulic lifters and use that. You may have to do some trial and error.
  9. Picked up a Craftsman storage cabinet the other week. They were having a sale, and discount for Club members. Anyway, it's pretty nice, and assembly went pretty well. My only complaint is the shelving. There really should be one more shelf in between the top & middle shelf. Due to the locking mechanism needing to be at a certain level, it limits your middle shelf location. Here's some pics http://www.main.experiencetherave.com/images/storagecab/
  10. You're not going to get much torque out of a battery pack impact wrench. You'd be surprised at how much torque you can provide with a good breaker bar/wrench.
  11. Subaru's tend to have a little bit more drivetrain noise, but it shouldn't be that prevelent...
  12. I wouldn't see any problem with swapping the motor and leaving the trans. What year ej20 are you looking to get? I'd suggest getting one around a similar year range as your 97.
  13. You would probably be best off staying with the same model line. You may be able to use a Legacy TCM, but I kind of doubt the TCM connectors would be the same.
  14. Welcome. You may want to ask that quesiton over in the engine management forum on NASIOC http://forums.nasioc.com/forums
  15. Hi Monty, Welcome to the board. If your O2 sensor is old, you may want to go ahead and replace it. The ECU will automatically adjust for changes in elevation. Another you can possibly do is reset the ECU so it's learning memory is starting off from higher elevations, rather than lower elevations. That should help speed up the learning of the ECU.
  16. That TCU is listed for the the EJ25D. Other TCU's will probably work. They're programmed for shift points and agressiveness. The 2.5 RS TCU is probably a little more agressive then say a regular impreza or legacy.
  17. What codes do you have show up? How do you know it's running on two cylinders?
  18. You may want to check out http://forums.nasioc.com/forums Someone on there may have some info on diagrams.
  19. 134a works fine in these systems. I'd suggest reading over my tutorial on the Legacycentral BBS http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=1083 My only suggestion/change to that tutorial would be to flush the system out, and use PAG 100 oil instead of esther. Esther does not do as good a job lubricating.
  20. Please read the FAQ Sticky http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=428662
  21. No, the turbos didn't seem to have the headgasket issues that the non-turbos did.
  22. Look for a taped up connector. If you can find one, that is probably for the speakers. If you don't find a connector, the speaker wires are probably not there.
