  1. This was from Fri night... The red Mustang is a brand new GT500. A older guy showed up in a 2010 Camaro and he was checking out the Hennessy. Said he was going to do the same thing to his, but buy it all aftermarket and save about $15g's.

  3. I installed a new 2 row when I put the fresh engine in my RX. With a aftermarket gauge, the temps never went over 200f. When I installed the TMIC and hood scoop, my temps while on the road rarely went above 140f. It was the coldest running EA82T I ever had. The gf was complaining about riding in it as it had very little heat in the cab First thing she asked me when I did the EJ swap....Does it have heat now?
  4. Please dont start any more for sale threads here.

  5. Psssshhhh, slap a seatcover on both and call it good. That seat will probably out last the Brat now
  6. Should we have a send off party? Tar and feathers? Just kiddin buddy, hate to see you go. But thanks to the internet, we can still give each other ************. Oh, btw....love your avatar. I bet no one remembers F-Troop, Agorn and the rest of those characters.
  7. You will need the wiring schematic for the Imp to do this. http://rapidshare.com/files/326618813/2002_impreza_sti.pdf
  8. If its a 1.8, they should be all the same. The earlier 1.6 had the starter on top of the bellhousing and might be different.
  9. I think theres only a few people here that have any experience with the swap. You might have better luck at Nasioc also, I know theres been several swaps documented there.
  10. It depends on how old it is. My 200k+ RX tranny is feeling ok with a EJ22T.....so far. If any thing would have a problem, I think it would be the clutch.
  11. One of the kids that comes to a Wed Subaru meet has a rich grandma. She bought a 2010 Camaro with the intention of driving it, even special ordered it with a AT. Well son and grandson drove it more than she did, so she agreed to pay for the engine upgrade. They plan on doing cams and heads on it next, bumping the HP up into the 650 range.
  12. Well according to a very smart mechanic I know, he said the 02 sensor does nothing under boost. The sensor is actually the wastegate control valve, its the same part for the turbo Legacy and EA82T. Theres a pressure sensor thats needed and thats turbo Leg specific. Also, a solenoid valve and dropping resistor are needed. Its all on a bracket, the same mounting area as the EA82T. Seeing how I was using a MBC, I could do away with the WG valve. I put 30mi on it this afternoon. It still has the high idle and I'm a little worried about the bottom end rattle when starting after its been sitting for a while.
  13. Ok, new 02 sensor is in and I got the pressure solenoid/valve in. And it runs at boost now The power is sooo much smoother than the EA82T was and when it hits boost, theres very little lag. I have it at 8lbs right now and it runs like the EA did at 12lbs. To say the least, I'm stoked! I do have a few bugs to work out, like it wants to idle at 1.5-2K right now. And when it first starts up it knocks pretty good. It may just need to be run for a little bit. I did get a can of Seafoam to try, but if clears up I wont put it in. Damn, I want to go back out and drive it some more
  14. I looked in the 82 FSM, but theres nothing :-\ Guess you'll have to be the guinea pig
  15. It helps to have some extra dampening up front....
  16. Well under this application, a external wastegate would work great.
  17. I would suggest not drilling into the turbo, this can weaken it resulting in cracks. There are a few different ways to do it. If you use a TD04 DP, the wastegate is all stock. Making a external wg is just overkill imo. This was my first setup, Saab IC using some of the stock hoses and other stuff. Then I got a WRC IC, installed a Spyder intake did a better job on the plumbing. Using a TD04 will also make fitting hoses difficult as theres little room to route them from the turbo. Its possible to rotate it a little, but then you run into problems with the wastegate actuator.
  18. I picked up a used 02 sensor from Qman tonight, I'll try that tomorrow. Dont think its the knock sensor as the timing is right on and advances when you hit the throttle. Now the pressure sensor is another thing. I have the ECU wired to my EA82T sensors, so I dont know if they are even compatible. I have some feelers out at legacycentral for the pressure sensor, but I would think they would be universal(?) Qman also suggested looking at other brand fuel pumps, dont know why I was stuck on Walbro (all nasioc's fauly ).
  19. Sounds like a diff problem. It might be getting stressed from the lift, how many miles on it? Does it shift ok?
  20. I appreciate your efforts to educate/help me, but I've done enough t-belts to know wtf I'm doing. I would like to hear from the folks that have done EJ to EA engine swaps because there can be lots of issues with wiring and sensors. As far as I know, only one other person has done the EJ22T swap and its not running yet. Telling me to check my timing is redundant.
  21. Decided to put this here considering none of these rigs are in their natural habitat. Got invited to bring my Hatch down for display purposes, so of course I obliged Pardon some of the crappy cell pics... Spotted this gem in the parking lot.
  22. I just cleaned the MAF and changed it out it for another one I had. I used the timing marks on the front pulley because I'm using a lightened XT6 flywheel that you cant see the marks on.
  23. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah It was shipped yesterday
