98 outback tps on 93 impreza
86BRATMAN replied to dannybito's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI'm going to say not likely, all of the obd1, 90-94 ej subarus I've ran across have had a 4 pin tps, the 95+ obd2 cars are 3 pin. Granted my impreza experience is very low but the parts are basically identical on ej22s, the ej18 probably isn't any different.

'92 Celica ST
I don't know how common knowledge this is, but I know this works on the 94-99 celica gt's. Cheap front brake upgrade is some gt rotors and brackets, and es300 dual piston calipers they'll bolt up to stock gt brackets, use stock gt pads and fit under 15s. I did it on my old 94 for about 40 bucks.

Clocking torsion bars (Gen 2)
Well I completely missed the question from last July, but when I did this I used a rubber mallet and persuaded them off. Don't be alarmed if one or both of them come out of the inner side instead of outer, it will still accomplish the same result, just for the sake of not having to do it multiple times make some reference marks on the tube and swing are for this event.

EJ251 engine weighs 119 kg (262 Lbs)
86BRATMAN replied to forester2002s's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWow I am a beast. I can dead lift one from floor to waist level. I'm 170lbs and have a bad back, there is no way it's that heavy.

Brake Pedal switch part number - 94 Imprezza
86BRATMAN replied to qmck1999's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDoes your impreza have cruise? If it does I've got an extra switch from my stock pedal set. I know it works as of last weekend when I pulled it out for my manual swap. Alternatively, try looking up a brake light switch.

86BRATMAN replied to 1-3-2-4's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAsk her if she'll be selling the old motor or turning it in for core. I am always looking for a project lol.

will axle from 97 legacy gt 2.5 fit a 2.2
86BRATMAN replied to auto2's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe axles are exactly the same, front and rear, they're also interchangeable side to side. Save the side skirts and rear lip, someone will buy them if not here on one of the many legacy dedicated sites such as sl-i.net or legacygt.com, the hood is commonly sought after, as well as the front bumper, it's support and fog lights, as well as the rear spoiler and woodgrain interior pieces.

Suspension Upgrades
86BRATMAN replied to Blair's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXRemoving the spacers is an extensive procedure, but removing them will give you better clearance when lowered. Better info can be found on sl-i.net than legacygt.com, most of the info on lgt was copied from SLi when a member was banned, and much of it has been updated or improved upon since. If you venture into removing the "body lift" some of your parts must be replaced with standard legacy/impreza items, such as all the bolts, rear trailing arm brackets, transmission crossmember, and driveshaft carrier bearing. The good news is that you can surely sell them to someone lifting a regular legacy or impreza and recoup some of your investment.

Best 2.2l headgasket
86BRATMAN replied to School Teacher's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI'm not aware of a head gasket change on the phase 1 ej22e, I know the phase 2 ej222 has a different head gasket. That said the felpro head gasket for the ej22e is a surprise are part. I purchased a pair last summer from advance auto parts and they had the Fuji stamping in the material.

2.5 SOHC Block for DOHC Vehicle
86BRATMAN replied to Maverick89's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNo, you don't have to. But they are the safest bet in my opinion. You couldn't pay me to use ej25d gaskets for anything. I'd either run the STi or a cometic gasket.

2.5 SOHC Block for DOHC Vehicle
86BRATMAN replied to Maverick89's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes, quite a few people have ran this combo. The best part of it is you can use 04-06 sti headgaskets to get rid of the failure prone ej25d headgaskets. One of my friends in PA has just put one together and he is very pleased with the motor, fuel economy is improved slightly by the compression bump when you drive nicely, and the power output is definitely better. I have built one for a local friend with a 97 gt, just waiting for consistent good weather to drop it in. And have a sohc shortblock I'm rebuilding for myself with the same build in mind. And honestly I'll probably build another for my nephew's Impreza he just bought if he proves he can take car of it lol

NA EJ20 swap into 1996 Legacy Outback
86BRATMAN replied to 89Ru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXUse it, swap your ej25 intake manifold, and use this http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/137829-using-a-non-egr-engine-in-subaru-with-egr-exhaust-gas-recirculation-valve/?do=findComment&comment=1159612 to make it so you don't get a cel for the egr system.

NA EJ20 swap into 1996 Legacy Outback
86BRATMAN replied to 89Ru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf you were to find a phase 1 ej20 na either sohc or dohc you could swap it no problem. There would still be an issue with the egr system as no Japanese model in that era was equipped with it. Common work around for that would apply.

There's a 1996 ignition coil on my 1997 Legacy Outback
86BRATMAN replied to revtim's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNo, they did not continue to install the ej22 in 97 outbacks. People remove bad ej25s and put ej22s in their place because they are the better engine.
