Like Nipper said most pumps have a filter. I'd get a universal inline filter and install it in the engine compartment. Change that on a regular basis until you need a pump. Make sure the uni is suitable for pressuized fuel systems and has enough delivery volume. Might also consider getting a legecy filter and rig up a mounting point for it.

As long as someone eles works on them. Hondas are a nightmare, worst than Fords which I'd eat worms before working on again. Soobs are far and away the easiest cars I've ever had the pleasure to work on. Even the worst things to get at (knock sensor, bottom driverside bellhousing bolt) are easier than most things on a Honda. There is not comparision between soobs and any other car for ease of maintance or repairs.

Your guy is probably right. Even if he isn't now someday it will happen. although $1800. sounds a little high, but if you trust the guy that's worth alot. I'd change the HGs (both) along with the oil pump, themostat, and hoses, heater hoses also. if the $1800. includes all this then its not bad. Good luck. It's the only thing that really sucks about these cars. I know I have one. By the way if you drive it again try putting the a/c on along with the heat that way the a/c fan will kick on and stay on for a little extra cooling.

That'll get you to the alignement shop without shaking the car apart. If you can, have an alignment tech show you how little movment it takes to throw the alignment out you'll understand that marking it is a hit or miss affair. Once you lose alignment you won't get it back on your own without dumb luck.

You can try whatever you want. After doing dozens of these I found what works for me. The strut bolts are the ones I avoid removing because they control caster and/or camber and I don't want to spend $100. for a aligment everytime I have to do axles. Remember don't turn the outer tie rod end that's the toe in toe out.

I seperate the outer tie rod end, the swaybar link, and ball joint. The hub swings pretty freely after that. One side of the pinhole is countersunk the pin comes out of and goes back in that side. I usually put the inside in 1st because its eaiser to line up the holes with the outer cv loose. Swing the hub out and install the outer CV. Have fun!

GD you may be an rump roast but your a smartass! Well done. -
Thats correct it lets you know your getting low on fluid, the rear doesn't squrit but the front does, time to refill!! You can check the drivers side hatch inside the rear compartment where the jack is, if there is no tank in there then you have the wrong tank. My 97 outback and 97 legacy both have a 2 pump tank.
