Easy Question For the EA82 Gurus
Being a TRUE EA82 guru all my wagons were 4WD :-p

EA82 smoke on hard right turns FIX
besides the SPFI hose correction its also important to use a genuine subaru PCV valve.

Do-It-Yourself Bedliner...
I used to watch those shows.... then I figured out they are more or less informercials... with really cool project cars though Maybe they used the duplicolor stuff because they gave em $5000 plus free product. Just a thought. I used herculiner on my brats, messy, stuck pretty good, but I didnt have either brat to give a long term quality report. Warning... if you do it inside you will get loaded off the fumes.

Any Diesel Reliability Reports from Across the Pond?
I would be happy if Subaru gave me one of these, a gas card, a credit card for hotels and meals, a 50K or so a year salary and said bring back the car in a year with over 100K on it (basically drive the heck out of it to test it out)

1st subaru parts.com.
personally I always find the lowest online price from these sites and take it in to my dealer parts department and ask them to match it 95% of the time they can

Baja Rear License Plate Holder - Removable?
yes the lights are part of the drop down thingie.... the plastic sides with the little black unlock/lock buttons

06 Baja Seats
They should interchange. Cant promise that seats from an 05+ outback will fit but I know that legacy and impreza seats pretty much interchange with each other from 1990 to 2004. The baja falls into this group too. Please be careful not to strip the captive nuts when you bolt the seat back in. They are NOT fun to change out.

Is a little bit a metal in the oil pan normal?
never seen metal in a subaru pan. Just sludge. (not even on my old engine with 85% blowby on #3) Only time I saw metal in the pan was a toyota 3AC engine... it had piston chunks in the pan

Brat w/ Rear Disc Swap: What car do I use for ordering parts?
I agree this or 89 is the safest.... hopefully keeps them away from EA81 parts and Legacy parts.

Im torn.
depends on if you need a title. If you can live with no title sounds like it may be decent deal. If you want to register it, may not be worth it depending on how hard it would be to find the last registered owner and get some kind of title.

Sweet car chase.
Ha ha I was thinking that too. Someone needs to replicate that RX now that we have a good picture of it

Photo's of my new Project
Flowmastered87GL replied to xoomer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSweet find for $100. My $0.02.... dont bother with the sunroof. You can throw parts and parts at em and they still only work intermitently

Block Heater?
Had mine done with the 30k service. Barely changed the labor rate as the coolant was already being changed. It got cold enough to use it here, but I keep the Baja in the garage at home and forgot the cord to plug it in at my parking spot at work. Yes I have AC power at my parking space

Survey: EA81 Oil Filter Price
I know they just changed suppliers on the EJ filters. My price from the local dealer has dropped from 6 something down to 5 something (I think... already filed the receipts) Crush washer AND filter used to be like 9, now its less than that. Havnt had to buy EA filters for..... a long time :-\

Car Battery
Flowmastered87GL replied to nipper's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHow much are shops charging for interstate batteries? I got one for my old legacy thats BETTER than the stock on in the baja for like $64 I think (no markup.... I know people) Are you a costco member?? Last I checked optimas were like $140 or so there... (and worth it) Oh... and I assume you know to look at the CA and CCA (cranking amps and cold cranking amps) The higher the better Get as many as you can afford!

EJ22T into an RX. Here we go
- A Little Mishap In the Snow Today
you can likely get all 3 parts (lights and bumper) on here for between $25 and $50 total. Bumper will look the same in 85-86 but the 86 has more internal reinforcement- The One Behind the Wheel! (Pics of Us!)
- 1996 Impreza L gauges...
if the RS guages didnt fit then your choices are likely 93-97 Impreza... so not much of a change available.... you can get white overlays (which I dont care for) but thats all ive seen.- '86 Subaru Standard questions
if its truly a subaru standard (STD) the back likely just says subaru. I think it has an EA71 and round headlights. should get in the 30's or 40's on mileage- Had to share my ride
sweet. Its really that hard to find rear discs over there? They are a dime a dozen still on the west coast- Let's see that action shot
My old GL. Although this particular pic was not taken at WCSS3, it shows why I won the "antenna award" there This is only as much dust as 90 or so HP could kick up ... this one IS at WCSS3. Not sure whats up with the guy humpin the cone. And thats subiegal in the foreground. - A Little Mishap In the Snow Today
