All purpose driving/offroad lamp
Sweet82 replied to LoyaleFan's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Baja 100w are 6" and less than $10 each. Harbor Freight has some that usually sell for $7.99/pair and are 100w. http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo21/PIC46 These are the lights... Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer--630w shining forward! 01 Forester--factory light shining forward! :-\ -
I understand the axles to be the same... The drive lines will change depending on if it is a 4 or 5 speed tranny. 4 Speed will be one piece 5 Speed will be two... The hatch and wagon are different length vehicles so some shortening/lenghtening may be in order. Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer--shortened driveline. (-"15) 01 Forester--factory driveline

need some advice on if parts will work
Sweet82 replied to dragonwingsubaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I believe the problem is the diff gear ratios. I think your looking at a 3.7 on the auto and a 3.9 on the manuel. You could swap the gears out of another diff to match the tranny you decide to go with? Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester -
Anything is possible! And Subarus are easy! As far as the motor goes, I'd make sure you have the computer and black boxes out of the Hatch. You'd need to match the Fuel Pump control unit to the carb so you'd have to transfer that from the donor car. Do a Search on the motor swap? Good luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

I can't remember what thickness tubing I used, I'll have to go check tonight. But in the areas where I might be coming in contact with rocks... I used D.O.M! Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Accident at Colorado Meet 1/22/04

Given what happened it seems as though that's the best possible outcome. Your ok, the car has usable parts... It could have been a lot worse Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester Maybe the car is now ready to become a modified off-roader? -
Looks like classic Moab / I-70 / San Rafael terrain. If I'm not mistaken that's clay and gooey when wet???? I've had problems moving on level ground in that Crap! I took the Forester through some of that crap last spring in the San Rafael Swell and it's still stuck on the bottom of my car Looks like a ton of fun! ...Gotts to wonder how "Summer" (my SubaruHummer) would handle the terrain I need to get down that way sometime... Hey welcome to the board The newer Subies can be lifted just like the older ones are. Mudrat is a great source for that kind of stuff. I think the reason more people don't lift the newer stuff is the lack of the dual range transmission Because of the gearing, your limited on your off-roading adventures. Again that too can be gotten around ...Mudrat... I added fender flares to my Forester to give the illusion of a lift but until I can get it geared down I won't take it on the ugly stuff. That's cute... Can't you get those for the kids at PepBoys or Checker? If I could get one I would, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester -
What did it cost to make the change? I'd consider it, if it was not too expensive I'm tired of not getting the vehicle to refire untill its back level ground. Does anyone remember what it cost them when they did it? Thanks, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--carter weber 01 Forester--injected
