Your on your way to a HG replacement job. Sooner or later (maybe sooner) its going to fail completely. The oil pressure is consistant with all EA engines. At idle it will drop to zero, even mentions this in the owners manual.
-
Then get bigger tires and wheels. That wont change the angle of the axles.
-
For the rear, look for wagon struts. If your real lucky you might find a pair of adjustable ones. Wow, that sucker has some serious cancer
-
If you dont want the expense of buying a lift kit, get a pair of adjustable rear shocks or 2wd rear shocks. The fronts you may have to do a search on cause I cant remember what will lift it. Get some 15" Pug alloys and the right size tire and you will have a pretty tall XT.
-
Have you checked the fuses? If not, check them all, it may be attached to another circuit.
-
I think the relay is under the passenger seat (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If you can hear the relay working, someone from there to the pump is bad.
-
Just for S&G's, loosen the gas cap. Then try it again.
-
The hla's are the same, as are most of the internals. Take the pump off and check it out. If theres scoring, grooves or discoloration, replace it. How many miles on the engine?
-
Its part of the plug, but run a fresh ground from the pump to the body and see if it runs. If you connect the green test connector and turn the ign on you will hear the FP cycling.
-
Make sure the ground is good.
-
Nope, its a different pump and gasket.
-
I agree, keep it RWD. All you need is the right amount of weight in the rear to help it hook up. And thats one sweet Gen 1 Brat (My fav color, of course)
-
I'll try and keep it in mind when I hit a yard later this week.

How do you remove a transmission?
Turbone replied to Greenley's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
First of all, why do you need to replace it? Altho the 3AT 4wd tranny is a POS, most of the time its the governor that goes out. Which cause erratic shifting, or none at all. Its very easy and fast to replace, theres a write up in the USRM. And splitting the front diff from the main is more of a hassle than just replacing the whole tranny. -
I would take a good look at the main harness connectors. Plus the disty plug. Does the disty shaft have alot of play in it?
-
No, sounds more like a IAC or vac leak. Check the connector on the IAC and temp sensors. They can sometimes get corroded. Get a can of ether and start hunting for vac leaks.

I thought is was going to be in Hillsboro?
-
Get a photobucket account and post a link here.
-
Nope. All the AT's are the same, turbo or not.
-
If you were on it pretty hard, yeah it will get toasty red. Might want to check the timing on it.
-
Yup, fits no problem.
