Broken transmission....
85 5spd d/r normal driving, milesfox diagnosed it as speedo cable  arrive at destination, noise when clutch engaged in neutral or gear drive around, 2nd synchro = grind go mudding, shift from 1 to 3 lo, to compensate for lack of 2, made it the farthest that got stuck, clutch set on "bake" abandon cars, go to prom awhile later, my car shows up, missing a few nonessential parts, thanks MilesFox 84 4spd d/r accerating on interstate, 3rd gear, 4 grand, go to shift to 4th, grind......................... shove it back in 3rd, and drive it home can't move out of 3rd no matter what put 85 trans from above in to replace 84 trans, still going good, except for that 2 synchro

Air filter clogged in two weeks. EA81.
it may very well be the cause of the problem and other driveability issues, dumping exhaust gas in the air filter housing or you could be picking up ash from mt. st. helens check your sparkplugs
-
exhaust leak
just run open ports:drunk:
-
Yep,another 5 speed conversion
OR you CAN use the ea81 flywheel and the ea82 pressure plate, 1,000+ miles of proof! do not machine the extra material out to make the pp fit
-
please help! total electrical system failure
how did you check the fusible links?
-
disty issue? I think?
the advance timing is a matter of application determines the curve#1 should point to #1, it's close if you're clueless
-
Fuel pump pulseing?
you need to be properly grounded, all of them and add more
-
Adjustable Delay EA81 Wipers
the ea82 is not swappable, it goes on the dash
-
Fuel pump pulseing?
is the pulsing like ............. or ........____________ where .is pulse and _ is no pulse it may just over-pressure and shut itself off check for air flow restrictions
-
Any guesses at what this does?
first thought was light control, lite'm up

visor falls down

Now what do I do?
also, after you run straight water, it is a good time to add a bottle of 10 min flush to remove all the scale buildup, then flush it out with water, leaving the rad drian valve open

engine heater??
is there one that screws into the head drain port? I don't like cold
-
low ratio
you should be able to shif in 4low when going 50 MPH, JUST shift to 5 and low, you're good for about 65 that way
-
engine heater??
1. what's available 2. who uses one 3. how well do they work

Bang..Rattle..Rattle What the H..........
I had a water pump go bad, it stil pumped like it should, but you could rock the shaft back and around side to side
-
Now what do I do?
but, the right valve cover recieves atmosphere air, which has moisture in the form of humidity, over time that moisture combines with blowby gasses to make the goo you know don't touch the head gaskets
-
manifold to engine coolent line (small)
you can use fuel line to replace it, mind is fuzzy as I changed a bunch of stuff around to make the ea82 carb and manifold work on the ea81mive this, cut that, it all works

boo-boo, need advice
subiemech85 replied to johnd911's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXworry about it ONLY if it is sequential fuel injection some systems may fire a bank at a time
