Webster City has only a very light dusting snow fun 3x SUCKS in the snow , couldn't go up driveway forward after I did the snowblowing decided not to risk it at a "donut shop" took 2 hours to do the driveway, shed entrance, parking by house, sidewalk, and path to chicken house before I moved the snow I took the sub. powered polaris, "MOM'S" down the road, through the field, and around the yard    __________________ I'VE GOT SNOW HAPPY BIRTHDAY EYESORE:clap: and there's no sign of stopping:grin: -

85 gl station wagon-no pick power
subiemech85 replied to plantladi's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
1. shift at 4,000+rpm 2. IF you ned to accelerate quickly, drive it in LO, then at 55-60mph, shift to fwd, works better because of the "closer" ratios and 4th and 5th do NOT act as over drive remove emissions controls, I have posted my how2, search for egr remove 3. good tune-up including proper spec ohm plug wires, ngk plugs, .045-.05 gap, accel 8140C coil, cap, rotor, filters, change oil, mmo down carb 4. 8* timing advance with vac. line disconnected and plugged EDIT: connect dist advance directly to intake manifold 2" exhaust with glasspack at end, more searching, good luck -
I only had ONE partial can of WESLEYS rubberized undercoating, great stuf, had to finish with stuf not so great, 3m, solderseal and other brands didn't have the color/texture/coverage as WESLEYS

I have always wanted to ask what this is?
subiemech85 replied to mickytrus's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
a pic would help which route is it in, supply, return, vapor? may be a damper -
I had to decide to either fix the seville or the subaru, and I went with the best option, the seville is too nice of a car to drive it during winter in IOWA SALT and snow, hardly any dings or rust the subaru is rusty, and suffered a slight interference with a power pole, and is fun in the snow, and cost about $100 to fix:banana: I have found many pages of good info on the cadero sites for help with the 4.9, including power and rebuild, will post links later

subiemech85 replied to Mykeys Toy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
it may be a leaking gasket pressurizing the system and blowing out the weakest point, possibly a plug, hose, gasket, or the overflow remove t-stat and boil it -
do you by chance want to change that fiero to a cadero? http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/CaderoOwnersForum/ I have a 91 sev with the 4.9, that has compression in 7 cylinders, didn't know whin I bought it, because I was used to the 4.1 in my 82 eldo, was working on fixing it, but haven't done anything for several months, weather/money
