  1. yes there is a definate difference in stopping power
  2. you are going to need the wiring for the awd solenoids unless i am mistaken, and you need to make sure the trans and diff are the same gear ratio
  3. well i got the disc brake setup on my car today and the thing is way different than with drums on the rear. now i have the power out and the power to stop it too.
  4. i agree, do the oil pump and belts and check the W/P while you're there, makes me sad that i didn't do it to the 89 we had a couple of months ago. we ended up scraping it:banghead:
  5. that's sick dude:headbang: i want to put a wrx shifter in my ej swapped ea82 wagon:banana:
  6. that's a pretty good sound byte, and from what i am hearing it sounds like piston slap(piston rocking back and forth in cylinder)
  7. those guys in iceland are pretty stupid if they coul;dn't figure out how not to get the second one stuck. i REALLY like the video clip though:headbang:
  8. well i've got the EJ 22 SWAP complete and now i am suffering from a really bad hesitation at light to 1/4 throttle......no lack of power beyond that. any hints would be kool. thanks, dave
  9. i like the flame job on the hood:headbang:
  10. that's kool dude....i just got my ej swap running
  11. GOT IT FIGURED OUT AND MY EJ22 RUNS LIKE ACHAMP:banana:  :headbang:
  12. well i finally got the EJ22 into my EA82 car and got no ground for the fuel pump relay:mad: . light green wire at relay to ecu is supposed to be ground. all ground wires were left in the harness and connected but not getting a fuel pump run and no spark either:mad: . worked on it til 1am and am very frustrated..:-\ ..any clues would be greatly appreciated. any info from factory manual would help i think thanks in advance:slobber: , dave figured out that i had the fuel pump wired wrong in the project car:banana:  had the factory relay cutting fuel and the cam timing was off RUNS REALLY GOOD NOW:headbang: .....HAVEN'T HAD IT ON THE STREET YET BUT IT RUNS AND MOVES UNDER IT'S OWN POWER:banana:
  13. it depends on what you want to get your self into. i am in the middle of putting an EJ22 into my 86 EA82 and it is not easy. you could just fix the one you have and all but i personnally was not happy with the power.
  14. im a little slow but the cam timing "THING" happened to me:banghead:took me 2 days to figure it out:-\ thankfully i have friends in low places
  15. if you're going to do multi-color.....i would not use black and white....they are toooooo opposite. i like the blue but i agree on the rally stripe deal. and i also noted that it is an ej27tt? dont forget hood scoop for intecooler if it has one.
  16. if you are going to wheel with it you will probably want the d/r tranny....however, if it is in a street rig the EJ trannies are definately stronger. make sure if you do swap the trans that you swap the rear diff with it.
  17. jees dave, i wish i knew youy were actually racin last night i would have went.....good show for the first time with the car.
  18. kool song:burnout: here's to many, many more miles:drunk:
  19. yeah for old skool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. i would more likely suspect that it has a crack at the exhaust valve more than a blown turbo because the turbo SHOULD BE oil cooled not water cooled......thus it would blow blue smoke rather than white smoke ( or is it actually dumping liquid on the ground?) could also be a bad intake gasket. good luck. d
